Blue Oyster Environmental is thrilled to join forces with Solar Oysters as the North American distributor of their Solar Oyster Production System's (SOPS). Together, we aim to enhance sustainability and efficiency within the industry while continuing our pursuit of re-establishing the eastern oyster as a cornerstone species of the Chesapeake Bay.

A SOPS unit is estimated to produce up to 200,000 oysters in a .02 acre space. The prototype has solar panels that rotate 575 oyster cages on five ladders to a depth of 16 feet. This provides many benefits such as: increased food availability, higher dissolved oxygen levels, and exposing them to sunlight which can inhibit biofouling.
