Our market booth needs a banner. Besides our logo - what should it have on it? Fresh bread? Artisan bread? Made from scratch? Assorted yeast breads?
Feedback and comments welcome.
In other news - mixer 1 - I managed to strip the gears. And mixer 2 - is smoking when I use it. It really is time to invest in commercial equipment.
But don’t worry - I remember how to mix bread by hand and will have many of the usuals. Today’s experiment with recipe consolidation looks like a success.
Cambridge Farmers Market
Looking forward to the farmers market this weekend. We accept special orders, advance reservations and recipe ideas. #bluehousegardenmn
Hello Friends!
We are considering adding a second farmer’s market to our sales. Anyone know of a good farmer’s market needing a bread vendor?
Also, this weekend is Cambridge Farmers Market! If you need anything specific - make sure you let me know by 8pm today.
It’s a market week so we went to Restaurant Depot for supplies. Main thing I needed? Yeast. Did I remember to purchase it? Nope. 🤣
The bakes are gorgeous today. So far we have rosemary olive oil loaves, honey whole wheat sandwich loaves and rolls, whole multigrain bowls and rolls, Parmesan garlic & Italian seasoning focaccia, baguettes and French loaves. Currently rising: cinnamon sugar twist bread, turmeric rolls, paprika onion rolls, star bread that I plan to fill with Pear jelly made from local pears.
Still on the list some nonglutenous breads. ***please note - for the rest of the winter I plan to make this category by preorder only.
It’s a market weekend. What is your favorite bread this time of year? Do you go for the healthier whole grain breads - or do you want the sweet indulgent breads?

Hello friends! I’m still here. Sorry I haven’t posted lately. Thought you might want to know that this weekend is a farmers market! Hooray for fresh bread!
What should I bake?
Still no sign of the gluten-free flour I prefer 🥺
Limited menu and quantity today. Come early to be sure you get what you want. Cambridge Farmers Market
It’s a market weekend! What bread do you hope I’ll have? Any special requests?
Don’t miss it!

We will also have kid activities and a price drawings for our Power of Produce members! Note this will be our last outdoor market of the season. Our winter market will begin November 13th and will be on select Saturdays throughout the winter. Thank you all for supporting local this season! 🎃
Look at these beauties. They are the “fruits” of my theory. My biennial self seeding carrot patch produced these! I will say that it took all year and they aren’t very big. But they are soooo tasty.
Currently available for purchase from my home:
Focaccia $5 each: 1 black pepper, 2 tomato basil, 3 Scarborough faire, 4 Italian seasoning, 5 Parmesan garlic.
5 Baguettes $5 each
2 maple oat loaves $6 each
3 rosemary olive oil loaves $6 each
3 marble rye loaves $6 each
3 cinnamon raisin bread $7 each
2 cranberry walnut bread $7 each

Today’s trial bake was a cinnamon sugar twist loaf. They are beautiful and very yummy. The family ate an entire loaf. The plan is to change out the spices. Maybe pumpkin spice or cardamom. Or maybe chocolate. This week $7 while supplies last.

Hello friends. Come to our home and buy some bread.
This week the Cambridge Farmers Market and next week the farmers market PLUS North Branch Area Chamber of Commerce Fall Festival! Expanding and growing.
Farmers Market!
Strange gardening practices.
Success? I’m pretty sure this garlic I grew is smaller than the bulbs I planted. Lol. At least I remembered they existed and found them amongst the weeds.
Grapes! Beautiful and tasty and they add so much drama to our patio. A little bit of wine country.
Checked out the wilds today. Looks like no elderberry and plum is still a ways out.
Making sure the eggs are fresh. How do you keep track to use the oldest first?
Make sure you enter to win. See you Saturday!

Baking day. Whole wheat sandwich bread is cooling, two of the three focaccia batches are rising, the gluten free baguettes, crusty rolls and whole grain loaves are in the oven.
I made wild chamomile jelly! And hope to make a mixed fruit jam later today.
What are you hoping to get at the market tomorrow?
Cherries won’t last much longer. Today and tomorrow. Pick your own. $20 per gallon.
ETA: prepicked pints are $6 each. I picked 8 today.
The cherries are ready! Beautifully tart. Can hardly wait for jam and other fun.
I feel a little like the queen of hearts when I remove all the pink petals from the wild roses. But it’s not because of their color. It is for yummy rose petal jam.
It’s baking day and running a little warm today.
Don’t worry I have much cooler spaces in the house if I need a break.
What’s your favorite bread?
Hi! April j here with BlueHouse Garden. I’m making lists for tomorrow’s baking day. Let me know if you have a special request.
Besides breads, this week I’ll have some cherry jam made with pamona’s pectin - just 1/8 cup honey in each cup of jam. In a blind taste test, my family said it tasted like rhubarb. Lol.
Lately baking day includes 4 loaves honey whole wheat, 4 loaves Rosemary olive oil. 24 loaves focaccia (plain, black pepper, Scarborough fair, Italian season). 8 loaves braided egg bread. And in the gluten free column 4 loaves maple oat bread and 4 loaves rice & oat baguette. Two loaves rice flour brioche.

Great accomplishments in the piggie brigade! Mama took 2 youngsters outside with her and brought them back in again. PLUS fewer floor cleanups!
