🍪👀 SOMETHING IS BAKING…

I’ve been a little quiet about something I’ve been working on behind the scenes…

But I’m finally ready to give you ONE tiny clue.

There are two cookies involved.

One is soft, buttery, cinnamon-sugared and classic…

The other is fudgy, crackly, powdered-sugar covered and a little dramatic. 😏

And pretty soon…

YOU are going to have to choose.

But this isn’t just about picking your favorite cookie.

🍪 A LITTLE COOKIE HISTORY FROM THE COUCH… 🍪

So apparently, being stuck on the couch with a lot of time to think is a dangerous thing. 😂

Because while I’m sitting here, my brain has decided to go down a cookie-history rabbit hole.

Did you know the Snickerdoodle dates all the way back to the late 1800s? The earliest known printed reference dates to 1889, and the original version was much different from the round cinnamon-sugar cookie we know today.

And then there’s the Chocolate Crinkle, which came along decades later, with its roots in the early 1950s.

Two completely different cookies. Two different eras. Two very recognizable identities.

And now here I am…

Sitting on my couch.

Thinking.

And thinking.

And thinking some more. 😂

Which, if you know me, means my brain is probably already turning those two classics into something completely different.

I’m not saying what.

I’m not giving away the ideas.

I’m definitely not spilling the secrets. 😉🤫

But I will say this:

I’m taking two classic American cookie traditions and giving them a modern Tat2ed Baker twist.

And honestly?

I have a feeling this could turn into something REALLY fun.

Sometimes you don’t need a kitchen full of flour to create something new.

Sometimes all you need is a couch, a little curiosity, and a brain that absolutely refuses to stop creating. 😂🍪

National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day is celebrated every year on August 4, and while no one knows exactly who started the holiday, we all know who gave us the cookie worth celebrating!

Back in 1938, Ruth Wakefield, owner of the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts, mixed chopped pieces of semi-sweet chocolate into her cookie dough, expecting them to melt. Instead, the chocolate stayed soft and delicious, creating the very first chocolate chip cookie!

The recipe became such a hit that it’s now one of the most loved cookies in the world—and every August 4, we get to celebrate it.

I’ll be celebrating with fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies and a few sweet surprises, so stay tuned! 🤎
