"Pick Your Own Bouquet" of flowers coming in summer of 2021. Laura Younts is a retired kindergarten and first grade teacher who lives on a farm in Cameron, NC. She is not a farmer, but an advocate for the farmer and encourages supporting our local farmers. She leases the fields to Duane Jackson. Her family enjoys country life with horses, ponies, donkeys, goats and chickens. When she retired from
Cameron Elementary School, she envisioned sharing her family's farm experience by providing educational activities and integrated learning experiences. Since then many classes have enjoyed a field trip to Flint Rock Farm, extending the classroom to the outdoors. Tools for the farm and home are compared to then and now along with a "thank the farmer" session are two of the large group sessions. The hay rides around the farm to see what is growing are most exciting for the children. In addition to school field trips for public schools and home schooled students, you can celebrate country style with Fun on the Farm or Cowboy/Cowgirl themed birthday parties. Flint Rock Farm provides a pastoral setting for family reunions, business get togethers or just a relaxing family day in the country. Coming in summer of 2021 is "Pick Your Own Bouquet" of flowers!
