July in El Dorado Wine Country is when the vineyards get serious. At 1,000–3,000+ feet, cool nights slow the ripening process in ways valley-floor grapes never experience — and that extra time on the vine is a big part of why mountain-grown wine tastes the way it does.

California wine has deep roots in Gold Rush country — and El Dorado is where a lot of it started. 🇺🇸

This July 4th marks America’s 250th anniversary. It’s a good day to raise a glass to the foothill farmers and family winemakers who’ve been tending these hillsides for generations — long before El Dorado Wine Country had a name.
