We're not sure we're quite ready for it, but autumn is definitely on its way! The last few mornings have had that distinct chill in the air, and the squash and beautiful autumn bouquets are making an appearance at the market! One of our employees and her family make the beautiful bouquets that you can find at our front counter, and we have local organic butternut, acorn, spaghetti, kabocha, and delicata squash available now!

Our August Newsletter:

Greetings from the farm! Beautiful summer days are here!! With the lovely rains we've been getting the grass is beautiful and growing. Garden goodies have been a little late in coming in this year, but they are here now: green beans, sweet corn, little sweetie cantaloupes and watermelons.
Do we realize how richly blessed we are with all the delicious & nutritious local fruits and veggies? Though the local fruits are very scarce this year (due to the late frost here in the east), we have plenty of other food to eat. Let us always be truly thankful to our Heavenly Father who watches over us with tender mercy.
The 15th annual Family Days on the Farm event took place last Friday and Saturday (the 24th& 25th) and it was well attended and very enjoyable. The speakers gave us much food for thought. Now we need to apply what we learned! It gives us fresh enthusiasm to keep on and appreciate the efforts that somebody put in to come up with the vast amount of information available to live a healthier lifestyle with nutrient dense food. The attendees especially appreciated the milder weather.

Fermented pickeled beets, Fermented ginger carrots, and Beet kvass all from Silver Hills.

Our own fresh sauerkraut and kimchee is now ready and back in stock.
