🌼 Let’s talk MUMS! 🌼
I realized a lot of people wonder why they can’t keep their mums alive for more than 2 weeks! 😂 Here are a few tips to keep those beauties looking pretty ALL season long! 🍂
💦 Water from the BOTTOM! Place a plant tray underneath your mum and fill it with water. This allows the roots to soak up the water they need without getting the blooms wet. Check the soil daily and refill as needed, but don’t leave your mums sitting in standing water for long periods.
🚫 STOP watering from the top! Pouring water directly over the blooms can cause them to turn brown, get mushy, and rot. Wet foliage can also encourage fungal diseases. If you don’t have a plant tray, gently water the soil at the base of the plant, underneath the blooms.
☀️ Give them some sunshine! Mums love at least 6 hours of sunlight each day!
✂️ Remove dead blooms! Gently pinch off spent flowers to keep your mums looking fresh and encourage more blooms.
🌼 Be patient! If your mums are still tight and full of buds, don’t worry! They’re getting ready to put on a show!
