12 hours can really make a difference. Don’t believe us, here’s your proof.
While checking a newborn yesterday evening, Brooks commented that the calf seemed to be laying on something red. Derek believe it might have just been afterbirth since the cow had cleaned. Upon further inspection, while determining it was a bull calf, Derek realized we had a problem.
Thankfully, a short trip to town for an emergency after care visit did the trick, and they got him put back together and stitched up.
“HD” is thriving and has more vigor than most calves twice his size. God sure was on our side last night!
