2025 Artificial Insemination is in the books! We were able to use some awesome bucks with SS genetic markers and low GEBV scores to improve our CWD resistance. A huge thank you to Wes Brewer, Ayden, and Tracy Newton for their help! We couldn’t do it without help from our friends and neighbors. 23 does cycled through the barn today, I’m gonna feel it tomorrow.

Looking for 4-5 people to help with AI this Thursday at 1pm. We need help moving 23 does from their pens to the barn and back. I can pay with sodas and fresh doe in estrus urine 😂

This buck finished out real nice and will get a pen of ladies this year. I love his antlers, but he is also a huge bodied bruiser! Not bad for a 2 year old.

Antler season is a wrap at Finley Ridge Whitetails! The last of the stocker bucks were moved out and the last yearlings were cut. We were happy to see the amazing animals we raised all delivered safe and healthy.

We now shift our focus to artificial insemination. If you are interested in seeing the process and helping handle the does please let me know. Our AI date is 06 November.

Good luck to everyone this hunting season, we will have fresh doe estrus immediately following AI. I will keep some at the farm and the rest will go to Big Al’s Gun shop.

Here is my favorite 2 year old for 2025. He is a BRR Off Limit son, waiting on the GEBV score to come back, fingers crossed. Had to knock him down for a minor antler repair tonight. Any guesses on what he scored?

We will have 12 bucks for sale in the Kentucky Bluegrass Trophy Buck Auction on September 4th. The auction will be on DV Auctions website, dvauctions.com Here are some pictures I took the other day. The yellow tag bucks are 4 years old that we have used to breed with in the past. White tags are two year olds. We held one 2 year old over to breed this year, he is a "bruiser" as Dad likes to call them. I will post him separately.

Busy Saturday morning at Finley Ridge Whitetails. One of the yearling bucks had a little antler damage that needed repairs. Had to break out the tape and see where he is at, 180.5” of antler with more growing season left. Not bad for 13 months old!
