We desperately needed a road patch done on Pond-Creek Rd. It's nowhere near done. The road itself needs widened and risen still a bit yet. But sometimes you've got to take small steps, working with what you have to reach the large results in your grand vision of things! Hey y'all! Meet Harold! As many of you know, we ultimately want to transition our turkey flock over too Narragansett. Harold here is a one year old chocolate Narragansett Tom! So all we need now to finish our transition is a few Jennys or hens. Hope each and every one of y'all have a blessed and productive day!

Hey y'all! Got a bit distracted finishing prep work and winding down that we nearly forgot our weekly post! We'll be away until Sunday as we observe our weekly 7th day Sabbath. No work till Sunday and we have a surprise for y'all Sunday as well! This week has been filled with little blessings for the family and next week we start the week with a HUGE blessing for the farm as well! Stay tuned. Until then Shabbat Shalom!

Hey y'all! It's a gorgeous day out for the market! It's set to be a light day for vendor participation, but that doesn't mean you won't still find the wide variety of goods available. Come on down to Menifee County Farmers Market and support the vendors who will be here today. The market will be open 4-7 today.

Hey y'all! Despite two major power outages during this incubation y'all, we're hatching out chicks! These are the first to hatch out; and we hope they are all or mostly all hens. These will be available as pullets for sale come spring, given they're pullets.

Hey y'all! We tried something new and it was an instant hit!

Happy Hippie Homestead crispy tortilla skewers:
Tortilla shells, ground beef (seasoned: cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, oregano, and onion and garlic powder) with finely chopped onion, optional jalapeño finely diced, cheese of choice shredded. Rolled tortilla and cut like cinnamon rolls then grilled or smoked. We smoked. Finish it off with a garlic butter baste! 😋🤤

Hey y'all! Nature has overtaken our porch! And we allow it every year. Why?

It's a HUGE hit among the bumblebees and our very own honeybees! This wild clematis (buttercup) first introduced itself our second year here and has grown every year! At a time of year the bees are desperately filling the hives with honey for the winter we are more than happy to leave these resources available for them and the local pollinators.

Even hummingbird moths, waspers, yellow jackets and a couple of bald faced hornets have been spotted interacting with this plant. Even hummingbirds love this plant. Although we have yet to catch any on our particular vine on the front porch. Not to say they aren't, we just haven't seen them.
