Hey y'all! It's the blessed time of week we've come to look forward to. Our Biblically ordained day of rest. Built into the framework of creation itself for mankind. The Father has blessed us this market right before we enter into the Sabbath. We trusted Him to make a way for a personal need and He brought people to the market despite the severe drop in temperature. It was relatively warm, but the stark difference sure made it feel like winter. Hope y'all are staying warm. Almost makes ya wanna fire up the wood stove. We hope y'all have a blessed and productive weekend; but for those convicted in likewise manner we pray a restorative Shabbat! Hey y'all! Silkie hatching part 1! This incubator has all but maybe 5 hatched! We are keeping 1 roo (to replace our oldest roo; as they're only viable for production up to 3-4 years old) and 7 hens. The rest will be available for sale once they come off heat; or at higher cost as pullets next spring. Round 2 will hatch with our hatching eggs from Chicken Math Professor/TheClean Bee next week! It took some time but the poultry program is starting to go places! The goat does aster now in heat and showing more interest in our buck. Kids will arrive next spring! Exciting steps forward for our farm beginning next year!

Hey y'all! Thankfully power has been restored! We've been busy updating our monthly budget tracker as well as being goods made up for the market tomorrow! We look forward to this next to last market of the season for us. Thank you to everyone who has stopped by this season. We know the economy has made it tough this year. We deeply appreciate everyone who came out and made the market worthwhile as it has been a big help to us here on the farm. This was a rough and dry season compared to years past but it's still a big part of our farm income. We deeply appreciate everyone who helps keep our dream alive; especially in uncertain seasons as this one has been for all farmers. Don't forget we have an online store through our website now as well where you can order baked goods and woodwork all year including the off-season; link to our website in the comments below! Hey y'all! We lost power about 430 this morning. The power company emailed us citing 6:47am as the start time, but we were awakened around 430 to the flickering. We have the backup generator running, so the incubators are good for now. We have 20 hatched in the one. The other incubator is a week behind. No HVAC, got water heater or range until power is restored. Hoping they get that rectified in time, as to not disrupt our Farmer's Market attendance tomorrow.

Hey y'all! Made it down to A1 and A2 before the drop in temps this weekend. I removed A2's medium super and A1b 's brood box. A1b was a dead out a I suspected due to lack of flyers. Wax moths had already moved in to A1b unfortunately, but not surprisingly. Fortunately it doesn't look as bad as last year's wax moth takeover from A2. I should've removed the queen excluder from A1a, but my back already wasn't having it. I'll be back in next month for a varroa treatment before winter fully sets in. Time permitting, we'll make syrup for the hives to give them something. The summer drought is far worse than last year; and definitely worse than talking heads are admitting. The bees don't have one drop off nectar and got little of any trace elements of pollen. This is why man ought let nature control the weather. They have ruined it; as is common with anything government hands touch. We will have to make sugar blocks as well. Something we didn't have to do last year either. Hoping y'all have had a blessed and productive day.

Hey y'all! It's the best time of week - Prep Day! As we finish up last minute farm chores, and miscellaneous work around the house, we invite y'all to join us in a day of rest. Many of us will be shut indoors as is on account of the incoming storm. What a beautiful time to enjoy the family and grow our relationship with the Creator. Sometimes we need these moments of storm to remind us to slow down and decompress.

As always we also extend invitation to join us in the Shabbat Keeping Businesses group; especially if you are experiencing conviction from the Holy Spirit in regards to remembering and keeping the Biblical 7th day Sabbath. Or maybe you're looking for Sabbath keeping and observing businesses to support. Either way we'd love to see you there! We are now closed for business until Sunday. We look forward to our day of rest, but we also look forward to opening back up next week ready to serve you! Have a blessed and productive weekend!

Hey y'all! We won't know a whole lot until the storm gets closer. We've always had a mindset to be prepared for any number of unexpected situations. Just got back home from picking up a resupply of fuel for the generator, just in case we lose power(very common occurrence living atop the ridge). We also picked up some water bottles and filled up pitchers and glass jars with filtered water to ensure we had plenty of drinking water. Best to be prepared for the worst and not need it versus the alternative. Keep an eye out for flash flooding; especially if you live near creeks or rivers or otherwise live in flood-prone areas. Look out for your neighbors; especially the ill, disabled and elderly. Hope y'all have had a blessed and productive day! Stay safe this weekend!

We moved the goats up the hillside into fresh greens. It wraps around the site for their future barn as well as the goose coop (Waddle House). Didn't get finished until just after sundown. Got our feed resupply done today as well as a few groceries for the house (it's absolutely remarkable how little we have to buy anymore). Pulled the bushhog along the creek which has dried up entirely. It looks like it could use dug out some in a few spots; likely from erosion caused by the stronger rainstorms earlier in the year.
