The scene of the crime post thunder storm 'everybody flee to shelter as fast as lightning' 🤣 💩. It's fine. I was due to mop anyways. (For those wondering, these are Earl E. Bird's siblings. Had he made it to a month old, this is how big he would be. Miss you, sweet little friend 🥺).

Today I got in touch with a version of myself I haven't seen in a long time. Thank you weird little pop up storm. I'll try to remember to make time to chase down the rainbow from now on 🌈

UPDATE: I found Rogue the perfect home! 🤗

In careful search of a compassionate home for our 2 year old bourbon red hen, Rogue. She has limited sight in her left eye (from a pecking injury, not genetics), and is no longer thriving with such a big flock. She has taken to being a career broody just because she feels safe in a nest box. I'm hoping a change of scenery will break her broodiness, and a small flock--devoid of bullies-- will help build her confidence again. She is fine with chickens and lays beautiful clutches of eggs in spring, and then again mid-late summer. Can you help her? Located in Canaan.

What an amazing weekend at Lake George Regional Park for the annual Garlic Fest. The vendors, food trucks, music, scenery, and overall vibe were top notch! Many thanks to Laurie, Darryll, Adam, the board, and all the volunteers that made this run smooth as garlic butter 🧈. So grateful to see so many familiar faces this weekend and meet a bunch of new faces too. As always, we get by with a little help from our friends 💚. Thank you infinity: Denise at Silverton Foods and BBQ bar , Emily, Rachel and Connor at Steadfast Fjords, Cousin Matt and Kelsey at Long March Farm, AnneMarie and the Fortin girls, and the gals at Geez Louise That's A Wrap for running us food and coffee! Much love, such an amazing community. So grateful our ship landed here 11 years ago, and especially grateful to Erica and Jason at Moonstone Mountain Forge for founding this festival at their farm so many years ago and encouraging us to join. 🫶 xo, punk & mattie

Do you guys even need the Pokey alarm anymore 😆? And is it just me or did they grow exponentially since Friday's reel?! I don't notice when I see them every day, but after a two day absence, wow!!! They're huge!!

Here's your daily dose of turkey drama. I know I'm supposed to love them, but they are making it very hard! Three days, three different neighbors letting me know the flock hath escaped. Mama hens Nibs, Cheddar and Gumby figure I have absolutely nothing else to do. No big festival to get ready for this weekend. Nothing. Thank you, Denise-- then Shawna--then McKaila. Who's gonna be next to call? 😵‍💫
