This morning we let cows into a new section of pasture. This is our 3rd rotation of the season. We have 7 pastures within our rotation schedule and the cows graze a rotation anywhere from 3 to 10 days depending on the size of the pasture and the amount of forage available! This method of grazing is beneficial for an array of reasons including but not limited to: more even grazing and rest for sections of pasture to allow for better regrowth.

Rest in Peace, Fred. I’m sure you and Phil are enjoying a few 7&7s up there. The amount of friends our family has made through the Hereford breed is pretty amazing 🙏🏼 thoughts and prayers to Pat, Michele and the entire Plaisted family.

Tonight was Shine’s first time on the halter. Shine was a very good girl for Finn as he combed all over her… including up and down her legs. This is why we love Herefords!

This (soon) mamma-to-be got a haircut today! As it starts to get hot we often shear our cowherd to help keep them comfortable. They would naturally shed their winter coat with a little time, but this speeds the process up and makes them look so much better!
