Summer has a way of inviting us back to ourselves.
Not because life suddenly becomes easier, but because the natural world reminds us that nothing beautiful rushes.

The lavender is blooming.
The meadow is waking with bees, grasshoppers, moths and butterflies.
The forest is cool even on warm afternoons.

This season, I hope Buds in Bloom becomes a place where you remember what it feels like to slow down.
Welcome to summer. 🌼

What’s your favorite part of summer? ☀️

We were married in the woods.
Years later, we’re still wandering through life together—through forests and lavender fields, raising a daughter, building dreams, sowing seeds, weathering hard seasons, and finding reasons to laugh.

Tonight, after seven years of gentle encouragement, Doug finally tried sushi. 😄 And loved it! We came home, strolled the meadow and delighted in the growth of it all!

Some things change. Some things stay beautifully the same.

I’m grateful for the way he shows up for our family, for this land, and for me.

Happy Anniversary, Doug. ❤️🌲

There is something powerful about hearing and experience through someone else’s eyes.

Thank you for these kind words. It means so much to know the sanctuary offered a space to slow down reconnect and simply be.

If you’ve been curious out for this therapy, Field & Forest is a beautiful opportunity to experience it for yourself. We’d love to welcome you.

Today, I spent far too long trying to make a path work.
It was steep, narrow, and required compromises that didn’t feel true to the forest therapy experience I wanted to offer. I kept pushing, convinced I could find a way through.

Then I tried one more path.

The moment I stepped onto it, my body relaxed. I knew. Later, looking at this video I captured, I realized why. Water doesn’t argue with the landscape. It curves around obstacles and keeps flowing.

Instead of forcing a path that wasn’t right, I let go, trusted what I was noticing, and followed where the land was inviting me to go.

Sometimes the way forward isn’t through. It’s around.

One year ago, this was just a vision.
A place where people could slow down, reconnect with the land, and remember they are part of nature, not separate from it.
Looking back on our first year, we’re filled with gratitude.
🌿 We received grants to support our wildflower meadow and trail certification through .
🌿 We launched our very first Lavender U-Pick and Forest Therapy Sampler.
🌿 We guided more than 100 people on the land, many returning again and again.
🌿 We helped open doors to healing and deeper relationships between humans and the more-than-human world.
🌿 We planted one acre of wildflowers and are now witnessing its growth and transformation.
🌿 We carved new trails, hung hammocks beneath the trees, and introduced our first tea blend in partnership with .
🌿 We partnered with women’s circles, grief support communities, cancer recovery groups, and other organizations, bringing forest therapy beyond our own trails and onto public lands and into communities throughout Central Ohio.

And this feels like only the beginning.
The land continues to teach us. The meadow continues to grow. New ideas are taking root. New experiences are on the horizon.
Thank you to everyone who has walked with us, supported us, volunteered, shared our work, or simply believed in this dream.
Here’s to another year of growing, healing, and belonging alongside nature. ✨

Nothing but gratitude!

Early Summer: Becoming 🌿
This meadow is in its first year.
There are no sweeping fields of wildflowers yet. No grand display. Just green shoots reaching upward while roots grow deeper below.

Nature reminds us that not all growth is visible.
Some seasons are for blooming.
Some are for becoming.

As we step into early summer, I’m grateful for this young meadow and the lesson it offers: trust the process, even when the flowers haven’t arrived yet.

What is becoming in your life right now?
