I very nearly had a full-on toddler's meltdown at Krogers this afternoon
Lord, I just wanted to open their app and download the digital deal. Something I have some many times. But not today. No no not today. First the app would not load. Tried several times. Decided I should just shut down phone and reboot. So did that
Still not opening. Decided maybe cellular signal was weak so get on the dangerous free Kroger wifi.
Okay now the app opens, but it wants me to sign in. I am usually already signed in but not this time. So now Iam trying to guess which of the #%=$ passwords I might have used when I installed this thing 10 years ago$&@ @
Whee! Guess it first time. 🤪
Now after lurking in the dairy aisle for the last ten minutes, I think I've got it solved.
But not not at all. The app keeps defaulting to the shop for pickup I as now talking to myself in somewhat threatening tones that I am in fact in the $& #% store and just want to "clip the digital coupons". Now just before I sit down on the floor and give up, I decide that customer service should be able to help me.
Shirely, who is EV we n older that me. Looks at my phone and says just go to Digital coupons.
Ahah she finds the home screen and we think we have it.
Now scrolling through what seems like endkess coupons for stuff I never buy I decide to just search.
"cereal." It pulls up all the cereal coupons but not the ones I have in my cart. It seems that I need to know who makes each cereal. Now I don't really even eat cereal, I buy it for my husband and have no idea. Shirley , hears me muttering and says. Is it Post or Kellogg's!
I must have looked like I was ready to cry because she says" here take this and just have the cashier scan it" this being a paper copy of all the digital coupons that I have spent the last 30 minutes trying to obtain electronically.
All I can say is Jesus wept.
