Our 3rd and final show has come and gone. However, we should stop being the over worked over booked horse trainers that we are and finally brag about our 2nd show from June. 🤪

Chris and Mocha may have missed our our first show but the extra prep time sure paid off. They earned a score of 66.5 in basic 1 and 68.4 in basic 3. Very respectable for their first show of the season. 👏👏

Lauren and Tic Toc earned a score of 72.6 in basic 1. They earned a score of 71.3 in basic 3 giving their trainer a run for his money and almost knocking him out of 2nd place. Pretty soon they can start teaching us! 🐴❤️

Ryan and Tres earned scores of 74.4 in basic 1 and 71.9 in basic 3. They took reserve champion for the day and earned a judges comment of "Impressive geometry". We didnt even know comments like that were possible! 🏅🐴

Mikayla also rode down centerline on Tic Toc earning a score of 70.8 on first 1.

The best part of showing is the people you ride with and the people that come and support you. Almost our entire Finger Lakes Equestrian Center Family showed up to cheer on and clap for us. This is what makes horse shows the most fun. Thank you all for coming and supporting. ❤️

This past weekend marked our first western dressage show of the season. Many of our team couldn't make it but those that did, represented team FLEC with amazing horsemanship and skill.

Lauren and Mikayla shared their rides on Tic Toc. Mikayla scored 69.8 on her First level test, earning her the championship for the day in that level.

Lauren scored 62.8 on basic test 1 and 62.3 on basic test 3. The mark of a good dressage rider is consistency. Lauren and Tic Toc did not disappoint.

Our trainer, Ryan Chiappone had his first opportunity to ride down centerline in a ratred dressage show on Champaign Leo Bars. They earned a 63.6 in basic test 1. Yes, his student definitely gave him a run for his money, 🤠. He earned a 66.9 on his basic test 3 and received reserve champion for the day in basic level. Not bad for their first time down centerline together and only a few weeks to prepare.

Dressage and showing isnt about scores and ribbons though. Its about improving with your horse and supporting other riders and team members. We're all making the same journey together.

Finger Lakes Equestrian Center is looking for 1 or 2 people for part-time chore coverage, mornings and/or afternoons. Primarily on weekends but additional weekday hours may be available from time to time. Responsibilities include turning horses in & out, feeding & watering and cleaning stalls. Individuals interested must have reliable transportation and have some horse handling/farm experience and references. Dependability and attention to detail are required.
We would also consider a hybrid working student position for the right applicant.

Howdy everyone!

Finger Lakes Equestrian Center is looking for 1 or 2 people for part-time chore coverage, mornings and/or afternoons. Primarily on weekends but additional weekday hours are available as well. Responsibilities include turning horses in & out, feeding & watering and cleaning stalls. Individuals interested must have reliable transportation and have some horse handling/farm experience and references. Dependability and attention to detail are required.

The pride you feel when your student progresses to taking a full lesson in the outdoor arena and makes him look amazing doing it. 🤩

Pretty heart-warming when she has the confidence to take him for a short walk-about away from the arena too. 🥰

💞 In loving memory of Rio 🎖🏆🏅

Labor Day weekend marked our final western dressage show for the season. Our season had a rough start this year as many may already know. A major trailer-related injury at our first show and of course the loss of our beloved Rio shortly after our second show made for a difficult season.

It is a compliment to Equestrians that we support each other when in need, we preserve, we learn, and we try again. This show and its amazing success are proof that we horseback riders come back better than ever when life knocks us down.

Mikayla and TikTok did their First Level test earning a respectable 63.1.

Martha and Raj earned a 62.6 in their Basic 1 test which was only their second try at Basic this year. They finished out their show day earning an amazing 68.0 in Intro 1. 🤩

Lauren and TikTok earned a 61.0 in their Basic 1 test only to turn around and improve their day with a 65.1 in Basic 4, a much harder test! ❣️

Chris and Mocha had a nervous start to their show day with a 59.8 in their Basic 1 test. It was all worth it though when they rocked an awesome 66.3 in their Basic 3 test. An amazing improvement from one test to the next on top of it being their first show of the season.

It was the perfect last show of the season. We couldn't be prouder of how everyone did as well as how much this team loves and supports each other. We are looking forward to next year. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us this season. Supportive husbands, supportive friends, and supportive fellow horse show goers. 💖

We are so incredibly proud of Anna Orcutt for not only taking Natalie Green 's Quincy to her first AQHA show after he had been doing dressage for years, but also for the dedication and horsemanship she has displayed as she developed a beautiful and harmonious partnership with Quincy during her summer internship here. Taking home a blue and a red was pretty amazing too!

We're excited to see what future holds for Anna as she continues her education as a rising sophomore at Morrisville College in their equestrian program!

Shout out to the greatest show mom Jennifer Scott for keeping Anna's hat attached, cooking us breakfast and just generally holding it down.

Also to Hunter, Anna's boyfriend for getting Quincy show ready with bands and wardrobe changes. It really does take a village!
