Happy 4th of July!! We spent the day at our favorite local tradition, General Canby Days. Our son entered his grandpa’s hot rod into the parade and car show. We love that he continues this tradition every year!

After that, we were back to the farm. We love to relax outside with some lavender lemonade. Check out our recipe below!
Lavender Simple Syrup
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons culinary lavender buds

Bring the water and sugar to a simmer until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat, stir in the lavender, and let steep for 15–20 minutes. Strain and cool.

Lemonade
• 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
• 4 cups cold water
• ½–¾ cup lavender simple syrup (to taste)
• Ice and lemon slices for serving

Stir everything together and serve over ice.

While our farm is not certified organic, we do follow organic and regenerative practices. One of these is using cover crops!

Cover crops have a multitude of benefits which include improving soil health and suppressing w**d growth. In our vineyard, we have planted a variety of nitrogen fixers which improves the nutrients in the soil for the plants without using fertilizer! When they get too tall, we just mow it down to a manageable length!
