Before there were micro brews and Starbucks in Oregon, there was the St Josef’s Grapestomping Festival! The festival started in 1983 when there were less than 30 wineries in Oregon. Proprietors, Josef & Lilli who emigrated from Germany, wanted to pass on a little bit of the harvest spirit to the burgeoning Oregon wine industry. Since then It has grown to stomping next to a 1200 gallon Oak barrel that holds 3,000 bottles of wine, lively music and locally made foods in a casual, relaxed European atmosphere.

Saturday- The Beacon Street Titans- One of Portland's fun & funky goodtime bands- plays from 1:ish-4:30 ish.
Grape Stomping from 12:45-4:30.

Sunday – The Gordonaires German Band plays the Ompaa music from 1:ish-4:30. Grape Stomping from 12:45-4:30.

An authentic European style grapestomp /Octoberfest held each third week-end in September. Wine tasting, free cellar tours and home style bratwurst.

We’ve been named one of the top 10 in Oregon by the Lonely Planet travel guide.
Wow! Amazing what can happen with good grapes, good attitude and great people around. We’re so fortunate (and lucky ) to have a small family business making a positive contribution in our world.

These are the best places to sip reds, whites and bubblies in Oregon’s wine country.

Saturday 9/23/23- bring your dancing shoes and enjoy music from the Big Bad Beat- One of Portland’s Best Show Bands!
This 5 piece party music band will get you in the harvest spirit. Grape Stomping from 12:45-4:30.

Sunday 9/24/23- Stomp the day away with the Boat Drinks Band !
This fun band will be playing on the pond with stomping going on too! Grape Stomping from 12:45-4:30.

In addition to Grapestomping held throughout the day, we will have current wine vintages and special reserve wines available by the glass & bottle, plus tastings, beers and non-alcoholic beverages. Local foods including German sausages, charcuterie boards, wood fired pizza and chocolates too.

Sorry, no outside food or drink. No pets this weekend

Before there were micro brews and Starbucks in Oregon, there was the St Josef’s Grapestomping Festival!

The festival started in 1983 when there were less than 30 wineries in Oregon. Proprietors, Josef & Lilli who emigrated from Germany, wanted to pass on a little bit of the harvest spirit to the burgeoning Oregon wine industry. Since running a vineyard and winery is a lot of hard work, they believed it was important to start the busy crush season off with a lighthearted approach. It all began with lively music, local foods and of course, stomping grapes in a barrel. It has grown to stomping next to a 1200 gallon Oak barrel that holds 3,000 bottles of wine, great music & locally made foods in a casual, relaxed European atmosphere.

Rain or Shine– Saturday, Sept 23rd and Sunday September 24th. Open Noon – 5pm.
