Calves will be smaller due to the blood flow being kept near the extremities to keep the cow cooler in late summer and fall calving cows. Genetic heritability of birth weight only counts for about 45% with the remaining 55% being caused by environmental conditions.

We are behind on updates. We have been a little busy... Our little man was born on May 17th. He is our pride & joy. Little farmer in the making.

10/10 don’t recommend being 8-9 months pregnant during lambing season

Look how big our lambs have gotten! They have been weaned for about a month or so. Our mommas have recovered and are doing great.

Yesterday we turned our ram back out. We are hoping some of the ewes breed back this fall so we can have lambs ready in the spring. This has been a learning process for us but we are taking it month by month and enjoying it along the way.
