"SUNSHINE ON MY SHOULDER MAKES ME HAPPY"
If you're as old as my people, you'll remember that John Denver classic. It's been a few days since we've seen it. Ol' Hippie Bob has been singing the blues and Widow Jones chickens feathers were starting to droop. I guess all we need is a big hug... and by the way, today is Share a Hug Day. C'mon, you know you want one. Everybody feels better when you get a hug. So go out and hug your significant other....your bestie...hug your parents....hug your pet. Get permission first, but hug a stranger.And on another note, my people will be at the Angelica Heritage Days this weekend. There will be music, a car show, chicken barbecue, croquet matches and of course the Mrs. selling items from my naturally curly hair. Stop by and drop off treats for us. "FRIDAY IS PIE DAY"
And you know what goes with pie...ICE CREAM. I'm Baleigh and the reason I bring it up is because it's National Vanilla Ice Cream Day. And we've sure gone thru a lot lately. On a 95 degree day ice cream, the ac and a movie go great. Did you know there's an alpaca ice cream? Not alpaca flavored, just our picture on the carton. That's how popular we are. The weather has kept everyone close to home here in the Southtown. Farmer Brown has been selling iced "tonic" at the general store. Speaking of stores...(shameless plug), my store has several beautiful glass clocks with colorful pictures on them. If you stop, bring treats. Have a great weekend, Baleigh out.

I'M BALEIGH ALPACA, HEAD OF ADVERTISING FOR STONEY ALPACAS.
As you have heard, it's the 20th anniversary of the biggest alpaca farm in South Canisteo. Against my better judgement, my people will be offering 20% off of all purchases. That's right, 20% for 20 years. I tried to talk them out of it, but you know how stubborn old folks are. From July 1st to July 7th stop in and take advantage of us...I dare you. "THIS IS WPACA COMING TO YOU LIVE FROM DOWNTOWN SOUTH CANISTEO"
I'm Baleigh and let's get down to business. First, don't let the construction worry you. We are open as usual, and easy to get to. (you can hardly hear them) Now I want you to know the Mrs. has been working day and night revamping my gift shop. For example, we have a Raggedy Ann and Andy display and victorian ceramic faces. You are going to be amazed at the new items. I know you're curious, today is Bring Your Dog to Work Day. Tucker, our faithful companion is always here, but ask your boss if it's possible to bring yours in. They probably wonder where you go to everyday. In case you're confused, this is his yoga position called the dead bug. (go figure) More importantly...we made our regular visit to Mr. Pierres' House of Hair. I must say we look MARVELOUS! "HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO MEEEE"
That's right folks, we've all been so busy we forgot one of the most important days of the year. My people remembered and have a day planned for me. Don't ask my age, girls don't tell. First breakfast in bed, then my people will film the passing of that giant steam engine for a home movie. (We would go but don't want to draw attention away from the train y'know.) Then a picnic with all my friends and with my fav foods, non alcohol brew and corn on the cob and apples for dessert. And just by coincidence it's National Corn on the Cob Day. The only down side is the weather...90...muggy...maybe rain. If you go out to celebrate, be careful, and if you stop by...bring apples. Baleigh out.

"GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE"
Ace reporter Baleigh Alpaca on the job. As I reported some time ago, this is the 20th anniversary of Stoney Acres. Mr. Mayor has come to me with suggestions to celebrate the occasion. Some of his ideas were a traveling gypsy show with dancers, jugglers and fortune telling (hmmm, really, c'mon). A rodeo with cows, horses and mules (too much p**p), A German Octoberfest theme. (wow, I don't know what to say about that one). Anyway, if you have any ideas, let me know. Today is International Mt. Everest Day. Personally I don't know why anyone in their right mind would try it, but to each his own. I'm not sure how to even celebrate this one. Watch an Everest movie while eating a snow cone wearing a parka with the ac set at -40? Good luck. Now the good news. The internationally acclaimed Alpaca Store and More will be set up at the world famous Wildflower Festival this Saturday. It will be the first time out for the Mr. with his new bionic parts. I will be stuck home doing bookwork while the girls will be doing yard work. (we don't get paid enough for this). Be there or be square, Baleigh out.
