"MAYDAY...MAYDAY...IT'S NATIONAL NO PANTS DAY"
Hey, I made a rhyme. I'm Baleigh and if you're going to celebrate, you better do it inside. Luckily I can go without pants today 'cuz of all the fur y'know. Frostbite is not fun on your tailbone. Anyway, it's a day you can free yourself, get rid of the constrictions and feel the wind on your skin.Besides it being cold outside, the law kinda frowns on it so be careful. Of course dresses, skirts and shorts legally aren't pants. So be free my friends. By the way, did you know they make pants with us alpacas on them? Just an idea. Now you've noticed Mother Nature has a weird sense of humor what with 30's...chances of flurries...all in May. If you stop by the gift shop you can still get hats, gloves, and see pantless alpacas. (hehe)

"HAPPY EARTH DAY"
Baleigh here and yes ladies and gentlemen, today is probably the most important day of the year. We must take care of Mother Earth if we want her to take care of us. It's the little things that add up, recycle, reuse, don't litter. Mr. Mayor is leading the way in our fair city today. He challenged surrounding towns to a trash-up day. Whatever town picks up the most today will get the first ever Earth Day trophy. Me and the 'Paca Patrol will be scouring the roadsides for litter while Hippie Bob is pulling the trash wagon. So get out there and make your neighborhood a cleaner place. Baleigh out.

"APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS"
Baleigh here just wondering what April snow, wind, sleet and wind bring. Yeah, we've had it all, but at least today is sunny. Things are quiet around here today. The Mr. is healing nicely and the Mrs. is doing a bang up job running everything. Hippie Bob has been helping doing heavy lifting, shoveling ma...uh...fertilizer and reading romance novels to us. In local news, you should hear the commotion around here. They're doing construction on the main road now. Between the trucks, heavy equipment and people yelling, it's hard to get our afternoon beauty naps in. More info later. Today is National Pet Day, and you know pets make life better. How many of you have talked to your dog, cat, hamster, fish etc. You feel better afterwards don't ya? Widow Jones has her pet chickens, Hippie Bob has a pet weasel and we all consider ourselves pets of our people. If you don't or can't own a pet, visit the local animal shelter and spend the day with one. Our gift shop has cat toys for you....pick something up for yourself while you're here. Maybe I'll go out and work on my tan, Baleigh out.

GOOD MORNING FROM THE SOGGY SOUTH.
Well folks, while the rest of you had rain, hail, tornados and flooding, we had a rare atmospheric phenonomi....uh...phemomin...uh...phemon...oh shucks, crazy weather. A cold front moved in and dropped the temp 42 degrees. White out conditions, 40 mph winds, drifts up to my tail. We're open though, so c'mon down. Baleigh out.

"SPRING HAS SPRUNG"
Good morning ladies and germs, 'tis I Baleigh Alpaca. I'm so glad this week is over! You would not believe the work schedule I put in. Head reporter for the Gazette.. official rep for Stoney Acres... in charge of advertising and then for the past week I had to put my nursing skills to work. Let's just say if the Mr. has any more metal parts put in, he's gonna rust. Farmer Brown has been supplying plenty of "tonic", Hippie Bob has been offering medicinal herbs (?) and Widow Jones chickens are serenading him as we speak. Now on with the show. Today is Respect Your Cat Day. We all know dogs are special, but sometimes cats are over looked. There's nothing like a nuzzle or purrr of a cute puddy tat. Adopt a cat or visit your local humane society. Y'know Easter is just around the corner folks. If you need that last minute basket filler or that one of a kind gift, come on down, I'm always here. "HAPPY SPRING"
Baleigh Alpaca, the author of Poor Baleigh's Almanac, at your service. That's right, here in the farming community, it's the book on every body's shelf. Spring came at exactly 10:46 this morning, just like I determined. If you would like a copy, go to the South Canisteo library. We also made it thru another week. Mother Nature has some sense of humor doesn't she? The Mr. thought the worst was over, so he put his snow plow away for the winter. I guess Mother Nature had other ideas, 4" - 5" two days later. We all took bets on how blue the air would get. The Mrs. is busy getting out the spring inventory today, so come on down. Well I'm off to the library to sign books if you're in town. Baleigh out.

"GOOD MORNING FROM THE FORT LAUDERDALE OF THE NORTH"
At least for the time being. Baleigh Alpaca at your service. Sorry it's been awhile, but we all decided to take a break from high finance. The Widow Jones chickens have been busy cleaning up around the gift shop, and Hippie Bob has been greeting tourists and customers. (he's a people person) Farmer Brown filled in for me at the Gazette answering fan mail and getting coffee for the crew. I'm back, well rested and rarin' to go. First it's International Bagpipe Day. A bagpipe is the platypus of instruments. It's a bag full of air, you squeeze, blow into a tube, that comes out of other tubes in only one key. The sound sure is pretty though. Come to the St. Pats day parade and hear a whole band playing. This is your lucky day 'cause it's also National Mario Day. Y'know, the guy who has his own video games...and movies...and toys. In fact he's right here in ye olde gift shop. Now with the high gas prices, why not save money and shop local. Stop by and see Mario, his gang, some rock stars and of course me.

"HAPPY THROWBACK THURSDAY"
It's Baleigh again. Now who do you think it would be...Beyonce...Taylor Swift...maybe Ariana. Well, the weather has been great, but the haze is another thing. It's raising havoc with my allergies, and don't get me started with my naturally curly hair. The only peace we can find is inside with the fan on high. Not sure if you want to celebrate today but it's Cycle To Work Day. Did you know that alpacas like to ride? Sure do....nothing like rollin' down the road with the wind in our hair. Get out there and ride. I thought I'd post a few new pics to whet your appetite for what's new in the gift shop. Holidays are just around the corner.
