🇵🇱❤️ Truly, an incredible honor.
This weekend, we had the absolute privilege of celebrating Don Kurylowicz, who was named the 2026 Polish Citizen of the Year by the Polish  Heritage Society, an honor that Don certainly deserves!

He was also presented with an incredibly special recognition by Cannonsburg Township, honoring him and officially proclaiming him Mayor of Cannonsburg upon being named the 2026 Polish Citizen of the Year. He was additionally recognized by the Kent County Board of Commissioners and David LaGrand, Mayor of the City of Grand Rapids.

Don has touched the lives of so many people throughout our community. He has brought his West Side roots and Polish heritage to the corner of Cannonsburg, creating connections, celebrating traditions, and making a genuine difference in the lives of those around him.

We are incredibly proud of him and so grateful for everything he continues to do for our community. ❤️Congratulations, Don! We are so lucky to celebrate and honor you this past weekend and always!

🎉 Hi Friends! Please join us next Friday, August 28, at 6 PM at Calder Plaza in Grand Rapids!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Don Kurylowicz, who has been named the 2026 Citizen of the Year by the Polish Heritage Society of Grand Rapids. 🇵🇱❤️

Since 1977, the Polish Heritage Society has presented this special honor annually to recognize an individual in the Grand Rapids area who embodies the spirit of community service and carries on the Polish tradition.

This recognition means so much to Don. For more than 40 years, he has owned and operated Cannonsburg Village and Honey Creek Inn. While Honey Creek Inn proudly carries its Irish pub traditions, it is also proudly Polish-owned! Each year, we celebrate Don’s heritage by bringing Polish traditions to the pub with a full Polish menu featuring traditional recipes made from scratch daily.

We would love for our friends, family, and community to come out and show Don your support as he receives this incredible honor. Following the ceremony, the VIP tent will be open for everyone to celebrate with Don!

❤️Our dear friend and coworker, Bill Holmes, recently passed away, leaving behind a community that is better because he was part of it.

Though Bill spent the past few years with us at the Cannonsburg Village Bottle Shop, he was a familiar face in the Cannonsburg and Parnell community for decades, owning local businesses including Yukon Jacks, Beverage Center, Northend Snowplow, Parnell General and the Lena Lou.

Bill never met a stranger. He loved sharing stories, listening intently to others and talking about the people he loved most.

This Sunday, August 9, on what would have been Bill’s 81st birthday, we invite you to celebrate his life & birthday with us. If you knew Bill at any point in your life, shared a story, a laugh, or a conversation with him, or were touched by his kindness in any way, we’d love for you to join us.

• Honey Creek Inn will be open Noon–4:00 PM for the celebration. Our kitchen will reopen for regular pub dinner service from 4:00–8:00 PM.
