First big day of transplanting for the year! We’re about a week late planting these babies, but the tilth on these beds was 👩‍🍳💋. Strawflower, centraurea aloha Blanca, bachy buttons, larkspur, bupluerum, calendula, scabiosa, and more went in. All in about 3,000 plants. Looking forward to this view weekly moving forward!

P.S. even professional flower farmers have issues with germination on our plugs - peep the closest one to the back of the transplanter that a mouse got into to 🤦‍♀️. In the pursuit of perfect, but mostly okay will do just fine.

MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK!!!

We had an amazing group of young women from come down to the farm to help us plant a bunch of perennials!

These young women decided to volunteer on different farms and ranches during their spring break.

On one of the windiest days we’ve had this spring this hard core group of gals helped us plant 400 row feet of plants! They were amazing troopers and laughed their way through 40 mile an hour wind gusts.

We are so thankful for their help- this was a huge task that none of us were looking forward to and it would have taken us a week without their help.

Our 2026 subscription program goes live this Friday March 13th at 7 am!

One of our favorite things about our subscription is dreaming up brand new and interesting bouquets each week for our members. We love the fact that each week’s bouquet is different and truly represents the changing season on our farm.

Women make up the core of our team and support network here at Ellen’s Flowers. Each season our crew is mostly women and it feels so good to create a community here on the farm centered around supporting each others’ dreams and having fun doing hard work. Year after year these women may start off as an employee but often the relationship grows into one of friendship. There’s something truly special about being part of a team of badass women!

We’re also surrounded by an amazing group of hard core women farmers who inspire us daily! One of the most inspiring things about flower farming as an industry is that it’s predominantly made up of women run and women owned farms. Ellen learned everything she knows about farming from two amazing women farmers right here in Colorado.

All of these women are part of the amazingly satisfying feeling of doing really hard work creating beautiful things together. We would not be the same farm without them - so here’s to all of you. Together we make each other(and the world) stronger, more resilient and joyful - love you all!!

Thanks to Guidestone for hosting another Agrisummit Conference! We have attended all 3 years and this was my first time speaking on a panel at this event. We love making the quick trip to Salida to support our nearest farm conference. It’s great to see friends and familiar faces at this event we never get to see during the growing season.

Woohoo!! We are hosting our first ever flower arranging class with at . We’ve wanted to do this for a long time and can’t wait to finally bring it to fruition!

Come join us Thursday September 25th(that’s next week!), from 6-7:30 for a fun evening of flower arranging. We’ll talk about the farm, how we approach arranging flowers, and sip on a tasty craft cocktail while we arrange!
