So how do we make sure our claims are accurate and test the headgate repeatedly?

Using two generators pulling from a pond, we fill up a 20-foot reinforced (that's a LOT of weight) shipping container with water through the red hoses. This takes about 20 minutes to fill and holds approximately 11,000 gallons of water!

The SteadyFlow headgate is fitted inside just like the display sitting next to it (see picture). From the top, we adjust the dial to whatever cubic feet per second (cfs) we want to maintain coming out, just as an irrigator would. As the water drains, it flows through a measuring flume where we verify flow. Even as the water level inside the container drops—simulating real-world canal and supply fluctuations—the gate automatically adjusts. The blue float opens the gate as water levels drop (and closes it as they rise), maintaining a steady, precise discharge without any manual or electronic intervention.

We keep telling you how the SteadyFlow can help you maintain constant flows coming out of your headgate without electricity and constant adjustments.. but where exactly can you put it?? This is a FAQ we hear often and the answer is- most anywhere!

For irrigation, we can retrofit or replace an existing headgate. This includes river, lateral, and reservoir headgates.

For stormwater, it can be used for regional and local detention and water quality applications.

Dimitri and Brandon had a great time presenting the SteadyFlow to the board members and ditch riders at the Water Users Association of District 6 meeting in Longmont last week!

During our session, we had some great questions about real-world delivery challenges. One was around flow accuracy—the SteadyFlow consistently maintains accuracy within 0.1 CFS.

Kick off the week by meeting our newest interns! ✨

Jonathan and Chase are both from Canon City High School (CCHS) and will be working with our R&D team. They'll be helping with refining the SteadyHome Monitor prototypes and building test batches. They'll also assist with continued SteadyFlow gate testing!
