It’s Oaks Lily Day! The Kentucky Oaks is a race for fillies traditionally held the day before the Kentucky Derby, and the Oaks Lily is its signature drink. This refreshing cocktail uses both vodka and orange liqueur (I like Triple Sec) mixed with cranberry and lemon juice for a tart, yet slightly sweet and fruity drink. These flavors just scream summer afternoon and the blackberry and lemon garnishes add a pop of color and freshness. The Oaks Lily cocktail’s color is reminiscent of the Stargazer Lilies placed on the winning filly at the end of the race. This beautiful drink will become a summer staple – whether you’re sipping it trackside or in your own backyard.

These Artichoke Ravioli with Dill Bechamel use one of my favorite spring vegetables of all time: artichokes. Artichokes, which are really a large flower bud, are a delicious ingredient that my family has prepared in the spring for as long as I can remember. The most classic way that I ate it growing up (and still do today!) was as a “stuffed artichoke.” My mother and grandmother stuff the artichokes with pecorino cheese, herbs, and breadcrumbs, making for a tender and savory filling to be eaten along with each leaf. I decided to capture those flavors in the filling of these ravioli and blanket them all in a simple, silky, dill bechamel. Each bite is bursting with flavor and takes me right back to those classic, Italian stuffed artichokes!

Happy St.Patrick’s Day 🍀 We’re celebrating with homemade Lucky Charms ice cream in between lucky charms cookies! This ice cream tastes exactly like a bowl of lucky charms and is perfect on its own or as an ice cream sandwich 🍪

Ice Cream recipe below

Ice Cream:

Recipe:
1 cup whole milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp salt
2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
~2 1/2 cups of lucky charms (plus more for mix-ins)
Green Food Coloring (Optional)

Instructions:
In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer on low speed or whisk to combine the milk, cream, vanilla, sugar and salt until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in the lucky charms. Cover and refrigerate 3 to 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Retrieve ice cream base from refrigerator and strain out cereal and marshmallows. Mix in food coloring to desired color if using.
Turn on your ice cream maker; pour the mixture into the frozen freezer bowl and let mix until thickened, about 20 minutes. The ice cream will have a soft, creamy texture. While still churning, pour in some additional lucky charms.
If a firmer consistency is desired, transfer the ice cream to an airtight container by layering ice cream and a sprinkle of lucky charms until the container is filled and place in freezer for about 2 hours. Ice cream will still yield a softer ice cream, but will be scoopable.
