Christian and Chicken bawk bawk. This little guy, behavior wise is seeming ruish, was a surprise. I have had two pretty turkeys since february. One took over a chicken's nest and I let her sit on it for a few weeks. And I threw them in the incubator and meant to candle them and forgot. And four hatched LOL

Along with 4 broad breasted white/ heritage turkey poults.

One of my breeding project chicks. They are about 4 weeks old.
All hatched from Easter eggers eggs and blue copper marans eggs, And two random brown eggs, which I can't figure out what hen laid- speckled Sussex or Cochin. Fertilized by BCM or salmon favorelles. I'm so excited to see how they are feathering out.

I picked dual purpose bird that would be suitable in New England. After having many evil roosters, I spent a lot of time figuring out a breed that would be docile, good foragers, decent egg layers, unique feathering and colored eggs. I picked salmon favorelles rooster for these reasons..

Stay tuned for more. Just looked out my window and there's a fox at the chicken run!

It's hatching season! We will be hatching all summer. Blue Copper Marans, and Easter eggers, Cochins and salmon favorelles crosses. Prices start at 5 and vary by age. A few one week old still available

Easter egger/ blue marans eggs hatched this weekend! 12 available. Most have feathered legs and/or beard or m**f and are assortment of blue, black and splash coloring.

My first hatch is going to be a barnyard mix and then I will separate. Dad's are Blue/black Copper Maran, Salmon Favorelles, Croad Langshan crossed with Easter Egger, Blue Maran, Speckled Sussex, Cochin, Buff Orphinton, Ausrtalorp, Rhode Island Red. I wanted to experiment with egg color and feathering with the crosses. Next hatch I will have marans separated and pick my others after I see how the first hatch comes out. Price will vary and I still don't know what feed will cost, as I am sure you know.

Spring is coming, chickens are starting to lay again. Everyday the sun sets later and later. Spring will be here before we know it!
