Good bye “Yellow House”.
Built by Ollie and operatedby Mary Ellen with many family minions for the years of Fifield involved Shaker Vilkage “Harvest Days”. Many shaker hand pies, rhubarb tea and I’m sure a lot of other good foods that I no longer remember were sold from it. Bolted to an old boat trailer probably undersized and possibly a Jim Lilly or Hugh Fifield cast off, it traveled from Welch Road up to the Village.
Harry Heath brought it to what we thought would be its final resting site, Clough Tavern Farm, Harry said that it was not to go on the road ever again! So here it has spent 25ish years providing lunches for our events - Garlic Days, garlic sales and PYO Raspberry Patch’s headquarters.
Today, it left for its new site, to serve another generation.

Learn where your wool comes from!
It’s Shearing Day on the farm. Jeff starts about 10:30 am and runs to 12:30ish.
It’s a great opportunity to learn about our critically endangered breed of Teeswater Sheep, known for their long, soft pearly locks, greatly admired by fiber artists and knitters. Hear why we have sheep and what it takes to keep one.
Try your hand at skirting, washing, spinning and carding other sheep enthusiasts.
Raw and processed fleeces and locks are for sale. You may even choose a specific sheep’s fleece before it’s shorn. Many woolen products will also be for sale and maybe even your favorite sheep.

Please absolutely no dogs outside of your vehicle.
