Most of the larger pumpkins are behind in growing, since we only had 4/10 tenths or rain in June. Could be a bad year for the big ones if they don't catch up. Here are few that look good and seem to be on schedule.

The fall festival celebrating the scenery in the Spoon River Valley and its surrounding communities kicked off this weekend. The festival activities will continue next weekend with numerous places to shop for antiques and homemade foods, visit historical sites and learn about the area.
