We’re still here. And we’re still fighting.
In recent weeks, there have been multiple articles published suggesting that Fishers is closing. Their most recent article, beginning and ending with a question mark, has stirred unnecessary confusion, concern and anxiety throughout our community. It has directly impacted our business and more importantly, our employees.
Let us be clear: We have NOT announced a closure. We are actively pursuing every strategy possible to reshape Fishers into a more sustainable model for the future. If anyone from had taken the time to step inside our store, they would have seen it firsthand: small renovations underway, new customers and actual momentum toward a refreshed and modern neighborhood market.
We’ve reorganized key departments. Produce has moved, frozen foods have moved, and our deli and prepared foods are now served from a central location. We’re working with new suppliers across grocery, meat, produce, and more. Our b**r and w**e sections have expanded (yes, including THC beverages), and new products are arriving regularly in departments like bakery, deli, and our growing hot foods section. The new brisket, the new ribs are incredible.
Unfortunately, clickbait headlines have real consequences. They harm local businesses, erode customer trust, and deflate morale especially for the team members who are showing up daily to make an honest living.
We’re not pretending this transition has or will be easy. Like any business evolving in today’s economy, we’ve had successes, we’ve made mistakes and we’ve learned from both. Just like life, you keep trying - you grow, you adapt and you push forward.
Our future is not guaranteed. But we are fighting for it, every single day. We’ve proudly served the greater Canton area since 1933, and we are doing everything in our power to carry that legacy forward in a vastly competitive and ever changing market.
The new concept, Fishers Market is centered around what people have always loved us for: prepared foods, fresh deli, quality meats, produce, bakery, w**e, b**r, and liquor. We’ve intentionally scaled back the traditional grocery model to focus on essential items and specialty, locally sourced products with an emphasis on quality, sustainability and supporting our community.
We’re asking for continued support from those who care about the future of Fishers.
To everyone who has stopped in asked real questions, and offered encouragement: thank you.
Please help us share this message, online or even in conversation.
Our doors are open, our vision is moving forward and we invite you to come see the start of many changes.
