TINSEL AND TURKEY ALERT!

Miss Tinsel discovered the new turkey poults today and apparently assumed they were participating in a game of tag. Thankfully, the tiny feathered feet were quick, and Tinsel is still learning that not everyone on the farm appreciates her enthusiasm!

Happy ONE MONTH Birthday to Miss Tinsel!

It's hard to believe our bottle-fed princess is already one month old! Tinsel has an incredible suckle reflex and definitely lets us know when it's time for her bottle.

Many people are surprised to learn that baby reindeer nurse very quickly. Reindeer milk is extremely rich, allowing calves to get the nutrition they need in a short amount of time. Because Tinsel has such a strong instinct to suckle, it is safe for her to use a pacifier for a brief period right before her bottle under supervision.

Thank you for following Tinsel's journey so far. We can't wait to watch this sweet girl continue to grow!

TINSEL TROUBLE ALERT!

At just a few weeks old, our little princess is already practicing for antlers by bonking her head on just about everything she can find, especially Amazon boxes full of Santa gifts for kids this season and Fox Valley boxes with fresh milk replacer! LOL!

Believe it or not, this is actually very normal behavior for young reindeer. Even before antlers begin to grow, calves naturally explore their world with their heads and necks. As they get older, reindeer will use their heads and antlers for play, establishing social relationships, and testing their strength. Tinsel is simply practicing those natural instincts and learning about her environment the best way she knows how—by giving everything a good bonk!

GRANDMA ALERT!

It has officially happened...Princess Tinsel has reached the speed where all grandmas need to be on high alert during farm visits!

After several days of perfecting her technique, our little reindeer girl has unlocked a new level of zoomies. One minute she's standing sweetly by your side, and the next she's a fuzzy blur racing across the stall at warp speed.

The good news? She's healthy, happy, and full of energy.

The bad news? Grandma knees may not be quick enough to dodge a surprise Tinsel fly-by.
