Maggie (Maggie Valley Goat) is finally beginning to hang out with some of the herd. She's been very cautious with everyone. I guess that's what happens when only living with your mother for 12 years in the wild does.

We have adopted a famous goat, https://www.facebook.com/share/1765D3sQfw/
She is about 12 years old. Her and her momma ran wild near Maggie Valley, NC all that time. Her momma died in June and she was on her own for the last couple months. She was captured by some people and placed with Dream Haven Animal Rescue. I offered to take her in and place her my herd so she would be others around. She is very healthy and hopefully she will be comfortable and spend her remaining time with her own kind. I'm naming her Maggie. She is getting acclimated with the herd today starting with a couple yearlings in a separate pasture to not overwhelm her.

Lost our herd queen today. She had a full life reaching 10 years+. It will be interesting to see who takes the top spot now. She left behind an orphan which we have already been bottle feeding because she had been sick for a while and stopped producing milk. The kid is doing great and growing fast.

We lost our big male Anatolian Shepherd this past summer and my two Anatolians are 8 and 7 years old. We have adopted two Anatolian/Turkish Boz mixes from Mary Parker. They are in their decompression stage getting used to their new surroundings but seem to be adjusting well. Excited to see them with the goats and other dogs. The male is huge at 160 lbs!
