I’m not a big fan of single lambs. I would rather all the ewes have twins. But boy those singles sure are nice to look at.

Winter finally arrived! Put out some square bales this morning to make sure the girls stay well fed during the cold weather

Moved the ewes back to the open pasture now that most of the bad weather has passed. I try to give them options to get in some cover when the weather gets bad.

Stumbled upon a couple new lambs resting in the sunshine today. Been excellent weather for lambing and so far the winter stockpile of grass is holding out nicely. It also makes for some nice nesting material for the little lambs.

The first of the lambs have arrived this evening. These little girls are only about an hour old. We watched this ewe give birth. Both lambs were up and sucking within 15 minutes of birth. It’s amazing to watch these little lambs go!

Registered Texel ram. He is definitely not the largest ram but he is nice and thick and gets nothing but grass and hay year round. If you are looking to add some thickness to your lambs he should work nicely. I have retained some of his daughters so he needs to go. Pm if interested. Located in Canton Nc.

Thanks to Enka FFA for coming out to the farm and helping tag the ewes. They recorded and removed old tags and put in new tags in about 75 of the ewes. I’ve been wanting to get new tags in the ewes for a while. This will allow me to keep much better records in the future.
