✨ Say hello to our last litter on the farm this season! 🥹

Mama, Maggie did amazing and has the prettiest group of piglets! 🐖

We will have 1 MALE up for grabs from this group - can be kept intact for breeding stock or can be cut for a feeder. He will be cut soon, if not reserved.

We will make a separate post for our available feeders. All barrows have been reserved/purchased. We will have about 10-11 gilts.

Getting some fresh ground for our sows and their babies! The best time to catch pigs is at night so they don’t see you coming 🤫👀

Today was THE DAY… moving the feeder pigs to the back of the property, where they will spend the fall foraging on fallen leaves, acorns, nuts and insects!

We had a few ideas in mind on how to move them there, since it’s a pretty good distance and there are 8 of them…

1) Load a couple in the trailer at a time, take trips and drive them across the creek.
2) Walk them one by one with a make shift cattle panel trap.
3) Let a couple out at a time and try to freely walk/run them
4) Let all 8 out of their pin and run them to their new setup and hope they don’t split up in all separate directions…

We just bit the bullet and went with option 4!!!!!

At first, we regretted it… but after 20 minutes of chasing pigs here, there, everywhere, we managed to lead 7 of them to their new setup.

1 very stubborn barrow went back to his pin and relaxed in his wallow (see last picture) he had to be loaded in the trailer and driven across the creek 😑

As exhausting as it was.. it was also so much fun to see them roaming free and foraging for everything.. doing what pigs do best!

Now it’s time to move our sows and their piglets. Wish us luck! 😆

A little farm update!

We’ve got our next market date set for November 5th, and we’re working toward having the freezer restocked with pork by mid-November.

This round will be a small batch, so there won’t be quite as much to choose from. We’ll post the updated menu once we’re closer and everything is ready to go.

Then in December, we’re planning a much bigger restock with more custom cuts, specialty cuts, and different flavors.

We appreciate everyone who continues to support our little farm and helps us keep doing what we love. We’ll keep y’all posted as we get closer!

Babies hanging out with dad 😆

Our boar, Chicho, is super docile and he doesn’t mind at all when the piglets get into his pin and play!

And yes, our boar is a CHUNK…. He’s on a diet 🫣
