Our first Black Eyed Susan named “Chim Chiminee”! I started these seeds (from ) WAY back in late winter, and have been looking forward to seeing this one bloom more than ANY other flower. The picture doesn’t even do it justice!

FLOWER SALE!!!
We will be at the Keosauqua Farmer’s Market tomorrow {Tuesday the 29th} from 4:00-6:00!
If it’s raining (like usual), we’ll be on the front porch of Hotel Manning in Keosauqua 😉
We’ll have mini bouquets, farm fresh eggs, mixed greens, and maybe some baked goods!

We’ve been struggling with the weather. (first - gobs of rain, next - absolutely zero rain, now - daily thunderstorms)

Despite the weather, these beauties are starting to bloom! Their stems may not be as long as they should be, and I still don’t know how productive they will actually end up being, but they sure are beautiful when you take a good look!

This year is full of lessons for me and I’ve lowered my expectations {many} times, but it’s hard to be too discouraged when I know these guys started as tiny little seeds. It’s like hundreds of little miracles right out my back door! 🌱🌿🪴

Close to 1,000 plants/seeds made it into the ground today {finally} 😅

We also got two beds prepped in the North Field before the rain made us quit, so that feels good too!

Still so much left to do, but very thankful to have had a teeny tiny break in rainfall so we could get something done! (Also thankful for my cute helpers 😉)

The rain that we’ve had every. dang. day. may be driving me crazy 😩, but these peonies in our front landscaping that were planted last year don’t care!

This gal decided to bloom today, and her neighbor has so many buds! 😍
