WE ARE OPEN DUDES and to prove it to you I took this selfie of me at the front counter because I am here waiting for you. We have eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese, meat; everything you need to stay warm during our 36-72 hrs of winter. At the moment it’s just a little soggy, but only God and know how long it will be before the permafrost sets in, so get here quick (but safely) 🙏

Bad news, dudes. As much as we hate to say it, we are out of beef at the moment; the combination of demand and drought has finally caught up to us. Grass finished beef requires grass, and grass requires rain, and both of those have been on very short supply. We can (and are) feeding hay, but it is very costly and quality supply can be unpredictable. Beef outages rarely happen to us because we have a few vetted partner ranchers we work with, but they are all in the same position we are, which leaves us out of options. Could we go get some from someone else? Probably; but I’d rather have no beef than have beef that I’m not sure about, so no beef it is.

The good news is this is temporary, and we should be in a better situation soon. We have two beef going to the processor Monday, but the majority of that will most likely go to our Carnivore Club members; hopefully a full restock won’t be far behind that. We also have PLENTY of other wonderful meat options available at the store including grass finished lamb and bison. Let’s all make the best of this shortage and all try new things! Maybe this is YOUR SIGN to try lamb!

Production challenges and shortages are hurdles felt much more by small producers than our commodity counterparts. We know that it is inconvenient when we are out of things, and it’s very easy to just start buying something else that is more available. So know that when you still choose to support small farms and ranches, through the ups and the downs, we see it and it makes everything we do worth it. 🥰
