Hey there! We thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves 🌾🤍

Welcome to Nova J’s—a small family-run homestead where you’ll find a little bit of everything.

Around here we’re raising animals, growing food, collecting eggs, preserving the harvest, baking from scratch, tackling never-ending projects, and learning as we go.

Most days are filled with muddy boots, coffee, garden chores, and a healthy dose of chaos. We share the wins, the lessons, the funny moments, and the reality of building a simple life from the ground up.

Whether you’re here for the chickens, the pigs, the garden, the homemade food, or just to follow along on the journey, we’re glad you’re here.

It’s been a busy BUSY day over here. I’ve got a buddy while I’m pinching suckers off these maters.

I’m hoping to get these finished up and get the last of the plant starts in tonight and the silage tarp moved to its next location.

I’m sure I’m forgetting to do something but I’ve done so much today so who knows what it is. 😅

I think I saw that my yellow is also coming back in. We’ve been quiet but we’ve been busy!

The forecast is showing today sunny and tomorrow sunny! 🌞

Which is perfect, it is time to feed the pigs and let the chickens out and get out to do list together.

2 things I know will be on my list-
1 canning breakfast jars
2 canning fresh mi asparagus grown just down the road a ways

There’s still a bit of daylight left, I’ll be heading out to fill waterers, and peak at the garden.

I need to get my posts in for our Florida weave on these tomatoes so I can begin trellising these 2 rows. They’re getting out of hand like a 80s hairstyle at a rock concert. 🤪

I love to make these up like fried breakfast potatoes. Even better if you toss in a tater or two, and add some zucchini and yellow squash - top that with a couple fried eggs and some sausage. 😩
