One was away from the rest of the babies (so 9 total) and didnā€™t make it. I canā€™t wait to figure out the colors I gotā€¦ thereā€™s clearly some brokens, but I feel like the FA colors are a little more difficult to identify at birth. Iā€™ll post a pic of the babies tomorrowā€¦

I had my bee class this morning, and we did hive inspections on 9 hives. It wasnā€™t that scary, so I was totally motivated to get home and inspect mine. šŸ My ladies were much calmer today and the inspection was a breeze! Iā€™ve been worried that maybe I killed the queen during the installation, but Iā€™m 90% sure I saw lots of new brood in thereā€¦ otherwise I just saw the sun glinting in the nectar. But Iā€™m crossing my fingers that it was new brood and my queen is safe and sound. I definitely saw other larvae in older stages. Now that I know they wonā€™t be as spicy as when I installed them, Iā€™ll make sure to video next weekendā€™s inspectionā€¦

What did I learn today? Bees can be a little spicy šŸŒ¶ļø ā€¦ and I shouldnā€™t think that I could do this without the smoker. And bee suits are HOT šŸ„µ!! But hereā€™s my first attemptā€¦ you know, for your entertainment šŸ˜‚
