Threw another 3 stack cage together this week… the fluffle of angoras have finally been separated from mom, she must be ecstatic! 🤩
I love these clippers because they automatically open, but there’s also a lock on them that continuously falls into place when I’m cutting wire. Solved that problem this morning… 😉

✨ French Angoras Looking for New Barns! ✨

I have several beautiful French Angora bunnies available! 🐰💕 They’re approximately 9 weeks old and are starting to show off their unique colors and personalities.

I’m doing one final gender check before officially listing each bunny, so I’ll update everyone as soon as that’s complete.

📸 If you’re interested in a specific bunny, let me know! I’m happy to take additional photos or videos of any rabbit you’d like a closer look at.

Please note: The martenized harlequin is being offered as pet/fiber quality only. While it’s a gorgeous and unique color, this variety is not currently recognized by ARBA, so it is not show quality.

I also have 3 more little fluffballs to photograph tomorrow, so watch for another post!

If you’ve been thinking about adding a French Angora to your rabbitry, fiber flock, or family, send me a message with any questions. I’d love to help you find the right bunny!

I have two roosters from that batch we hatched back in April… they were just having a showdown but I missed the pic 😂

Wow, it has been a busy week at the 4h fair! To say Molly did well in the rabbit barn with her silver foxes would be a bit of an understatement.

Ted - Sr Black Buck
Best of Breed
Grand Champion Commercial Class
Reserve Champion Overall

Twilight - Sr Black Doe
Best Opposite S*x

Her fryer and roaster didn’t make it into the live auction, but they didn’t place last!! They fell more in the middle of both classes! (I was a little surprised, we had some breeding issues this year and they were on the younger and smaller side of their classes)

Her stewer… OMG, her stewer! Silver Fox Sr Black Buck… Grand Champion Stewer!! Sold at the live auction for $550!!

Molly also took 2nd place in showmanship in her age class, and on a fluke ended up in Sweepstakes (the Grand Champion and the alternate had both already granded in other barns, Molly was the next alternate).

And she got Grand Champion on her rabbit science poster about the rabbit digestive system.

We do still have some silver foxes available that didn’t quite make weight in time for fair! If you’re interested, shoot me a message…

Ok, “pre fair” is almost over and “fair week” officially starts tomorrow! Molly will have a silver fox stewer, roaster and fryer in the auction (Thursday 2 pm at Goodells Fairgrounds)

In the meantime, a friend of mine helped me identify my French angora colors! These babies will be ready to hop in a few weeks…

Top Left: (3) broken chestnuts
Top Right: broken chinchilla
Bottom Left: martinized Himalayan (not showable)
Bottom Right: chestnut

I’ll work on sexing them once fair is over, but if you’re interested in any of them, shoot me a message!

Did a quick hive inspection (quick, just because it’s so hot out and I went in just shorts and a tank top and my veil)… I deemed enough bees in the 2nd brood box to add a honey super 🤞🤞… and even though I’m having a hard time putting my eyes on eggs, I do keep seeing larvae, so egg laying must be happening!

In preparation of our 4h goat clipping party, one milk stand built and ready to go! In conjunction with dog grooming table, we should be able to clip two goats at a time… 🐐 ✂️

Realizing that I won’t be in the office for the next 2 weeks and therefore won’t be filling my regular egg orders… I guess we’ll be making several of these bundt cakes. Great way to use up excess eggs, and they freeze well.
(Thank you to the Backyard Chicken page that I’ve been following since I started chickens way back when…)
