Our 4-H Rabbit Club had butchering class tonight! The kids did soooo great! They pretty much divided up the tasks and worked like an assembly line. It was the coolest thing to watch, and no parental intervention! They did it ALL! They have come so far over the past few years.

Michigan Fall Harvest Fest 🎃 👻
We didn’t get any crazy great placings, the silver foxes are molting, and the angoras still have their baby coat. But I did get good comments from the judges on the angora’s body types!
And a HUGE THANK YOU to Colleen Boyd for donating a French angora REW doe to Molly! Soooo generous! Can’t wait to see what she does in our rabbitry!

Did we plant a garden this year? Yes.
Did we make bigger plans than what we could actually accomplish? Yes.
Did we make a map of what we planted or mark anything? No.
Did we take care of the garden? Not really.
Did I plant a packet of assorted squash? Must have. 😂
For some reason, tomatoes just don’t do well for me. It’s October, and I have 1 red cherry tomato. Plenty of green ones on the vine, but my tomatoes have ALWAYS turned red really late. And the one lone pickling cucumber 🥒 🙄
But I think we’ll try pickling the lemon cukes (which must have been part of the assorted squash packet because that’s the area that they grew in), and clearly squash will be a side dish for several upcoming meals…

These two 🐇 will be at the Armada show this weekend and are ready to hop to a new barn!! Come and take one home 🥰

Almond Joy (who I’ve been calling AJ) is a chestnut French angora buck. He is such a sweetie, but don’t let him catch you feeding other bunnies before him! 😂 (left)

Butterfinger is a chinchilla French angora buck. He’s a sweetheart with a little sass mixed in. (right)

Both are 4 months old, in the process of molting their baby coats, and used to the blower 😉
I’m starting to get attached to them, but I REALLY don’t need more bucks in my barn (can you believe in my litter of 8 that 7 are bucks?!? Definitely not what I learned in my college statistics class 😂)

How cool is THIS?! Super excited to get this in the mail today…
