Wilson's Market Turns 2!
Two years ago, we opened the doors at 245 Mason Ave, Cape Charles β sharing the beautiful, historic Wilson's Building with At Altitude Gallery β and this community has made every single day worth it.
We wouldn't be here without you. Thank you for visiting Cape Charles, shopping here, and supporting our small business on the Eastern Shore.
Honoring 23 Years
of North Street Market
Wilson's Market stands on the shoulders of North Street Market in Onancock β open for 23 years and still going strong, 7 days a week all summer long. That legacy of community and craft is what we bring to Cape Charles every day.
π§ August Cheese of the Month: Drunken Goat
This semi-firm goat cheese from the Murcia region of Spain is soaked in Doble Pasta, a traditional regional wine made from the Monastrell grape. The result is extraordinary β a bright white, milky-smooth paste wrapped in a rich violet-hued rind that echoes the grape notes within.
Aged for 60 days, Drunken Goat is mild, smooth, and not "goaty" at all β with a gentle fruitiness in the finish that makes it approachable for everyone. It carries a D.O.P. designation, meaning it's the real thing, crafted by Central Quesera Montesinos, specialists in Murciana goat's milk cheeses.
π· Perfect Pairing: Chatham Vineyards Cabernet Franc
We love pairing Drunken Goat with Chatham Vineyards Cabernet Franc β available by the glass for $10 at our Cape Charles location. And $27 per bottle in both locations to enjoy at home.
Chatham Vineyards is a family-owned winery on Virginia's Eastern Shore, farming their estate vines on Church Creek just miles from our store. Their Cabernet Franc is authentically Chatham β bright red fruit, soft tannins, and a savory, herb-tinged finish that is a natural match for the fruity, wine-kissed character of Drunken Goat. It's a true taste of the Shore.
Stop in and taste the pairing for yourself. $10/glass, Cape Charles only.
π« The Accompaniment: Eastern Shore Fig Butter
Figs have deep roots on Virginia's Eastern Shore β brought here centuries ago and thriving in the coastal climate ever since. A local woman has made it her business to share their value and taste.

It is a rich, jammy fig butter, made to spread over a wedge of Drunken Goat. The sweetness plays perfectly against the cheese's mild, fruity finish. Absolutely packed with fig, a little jar on your cheese board goes a long way.
πͺ The Right Knife Makes All the Difference
Meet the Mini Cheese Knife by Jean Dubost β Laguiole, Made in France. Guaranteed authentic.
The Laguiole knife has been used in the south of France for over 200 years. Jean Dubost's family, inspired by the traditional peasant tool, has been crafting artisan blades since 1920. Surrounded by legend and myth, every Laguiole product carries the mark of its ancestors β a bee engraved on the blade, originally part of Napoleon Bonaparte's imperial seal.
The blade is made of high-grade stainless steel, stamped, ground, and polished through over 25 manual production stages. Trusted in kitchens and restaurants throughout France for generations β and also available right here in our markets. Available in multiple colors. $11 each. (Warning: the next order to arrive from France will be priced at 13.50 per knife.)
Shop Local. It Makes a Difference.
Small businesses thrive when neighbors choose to shop local. Whether you're a regular or visiting for the first time β thank you for being part of what makes Cape Charles, Onancock and the Eastern Shore so special.
