The ranch has been part of the Tinsley family for over fifty years. We are located near the village of Capitan and the scenic mountain town of Ruidoso. FWD consists of roughly 15,000 acres of the most scenic and historic country. The steep ridges and ponderosa pines of the Capitan and Tucson Mountain ranges frame the ranch from the East and North with rolling hills of pinon filling the far reaching horizon. FWD runs from Smokey Bear’s birthplace to his resting place in downtown Capitan, affording the variety of landscape only captured in the hearts and minds of renowned artists and photographers. The legends of Billy the Kid traversing this ranch during the Lincoln County War still cast the shadow of a horse and rider roaming the place under moonlit summer nights. Flying W Diamond Ranch functions year round as a cattle operation and provides sportsmen a wealth of adventure ranging from turkey hunting to some of the best elk hunting in the United States. We invite you to spend some time down South with us in a world of cowboys, history, fantastic hunting and fun times!
