With shorter days and the appearance of pumpkin spice EVERYTHING, it is hard to deny that Fall is on the way. However, with these 90 degree days in the DMV, Summer is hanging on with all her might!
In honor of the changing of seasons, I created this little number last night, yet to be named, that combines the brightness of summer with some subtle hints of the season to come.
Bourbon Maple Sour w/ Fresh Rosemary
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz Bourbon (I used Elijah Craig Small Batch)
- 1/2 oz Grade A Maple Syrup
- 1/2 oz Lemon Juice (always, ALWAYS, fresh squeezed)
- 1 Egg White
- 2 Rosemary Sprigs
Directions
- Add maple syrup and one rosemary sprig into a cocktail shaker
-Muddle together
-Add egg white, lemon juice and bourbon
-Shake WITHOUT ICE for 30 seconds
-Open tin and add ice
-Shake again for 30 seconds (or until tin is extremely cold)
- Double strain into a rocks glass (with or without ice)
- Place the other sprig of rosemary in your palm and slap to release oils
-Add to glass as garnish with a lemon wheel
Cheers!!
