“He has made everything beautiful in its time…” Ecclesiastes 3:11

Finding monarch caterpillars on the homestead felt like a quiet reminder of God’s timing.

After the week I’ve had, I needed that more than I realized.

There they were, just becoming, just transforming right in the middle of flower bed.

No rush. No forcing. Just perfect timing.

And I couldn’t help but feel like God was gently reminding me: I haven’t missed you. I haven’t forgotten you. I’m still working.

I can’t believe I have monarchs here...... (we have 4 to be exact, 5 as of this morning)🤩 but maybe that’s exactly the point. ✝️🌱

Today was a big homestead experiment day for us 🌱🍅

We’re trying the trenching method with our tomatoes for the first time ever this year. Instead of planting straight down, we laid the stems sideways and buried them so they can grow roots all along that buried section.

It feels a little wild doing it the first time, like you’re doing something you shouldn’t be doing to a perfectly good plant 😅 but everything I’ve read (and a lot of experienced growers swear by it) says they come back stronger, sturdier, and more productive.

Now they’re tucked in with mulch, getting a good soak from the rain, and we’ll just let them do their thing and reach back up toward the sun ☀️

First year trying it… we’ll see how it goes, but I’ve got a good feeling about it 🍅💚

Hey, guys!

We're thinking about setting up a small roadside farmstand here at the homestead this season 🌿

If we did, what would y’all be most excited to see?
• Fresh eggs 🥚
• Flowers 💐
• Herbs 🌱
• Baked goods 🍞
• Garden starters 🌿
(or something else?)

Just dreaming a little and dipping a toe into the shallow end.

Here’s a little peek at what’s already growing…
