🐈 We really need to have a staff meeting about the distribution of labor around here. 😂

Some of us are feeding animals, cleaning pens, packing orders, answering emails, and keeping this entire operation running…

Meanwhile, one of our coworkers has been asleep in the company vehicle for three hours.

No PTO request. No explanation. Not even pretending to look busy.

Management has been notified, but apparently this employee is also sleeping with management. 🤦‍♀️🐈

Country Haven Farm: Where some of us work hard, and others are just here for the benefits. 😂❤️

🍂🐔 THE BIRDS ARE MIGRATING… AND THEY MAY BE BRINGING MORE THAN JUST THEMSELVES! 🐔🍂

⚠️ BACKYARD CHICKEN KEEPERS, THIS IS YOUR FALL REMINDER!

Every fall, millions of wild birds travel through our communities as they head south for the winter. While it's a beautiful part of nature, migration season also brings some additional risks for our backyard flocks!

Wild birds can introduce parasites and diseases into areas where our chickens live, eat, and forage.

And here's something important to remember…

Your chickens don't have to come into direct contact with a wild bird to be exposed!

Wild birds visiting your property can contaminate feed, water, and soil with droppings. Some can also carry external parasites.

🪳 EXTERNAL PARASITES — MITES & LICE

These nasty little pests can cause:
❌ Feather damage and loss
❌ Excessive scratching and irritation
❌ Decreased egg production
❌ Anemia in severe infestations
❌ Stress and weakened birds

💥 OUR GO-TO: ELECTOR PSP!

Elector PSP contains spinosad and is an effective treatment for labeled poultry mite infestations.

✔️ No egg withdrawal period when used as labeled!
✔️ Convenient, affordable 9 mL portions
✔️ One portion makes a gallon of treatment solution
✔️ No need to purchase an expensive full-sized bottle!

🪱 INTERNAL PARASITES — WORMS

Internal parasites are another concern for backyard poultry owners.

Worm eggs can contaminate the environment through infected droppings, and chickens may ingest them while scratching and foraging.

Signs of a worm burden can include:
❌ Weight loss despite eating
❌ Reduced egg production
❌ Poor feather condition
❌ Diarrhea or abnormal droppings
❌ General decline in condition

And remember, a chicken can have worms without showing obvious symptoms!

💥 OUR GO-TO: SAFE-GUARD AQUASOL!

Safe-Guard AquaSol contains fenbendazole and is FDA-approved for treating specific intestinal worms in chickens.

✔️ Convenient 5-day treatment
✔️ Administered through drinking water
✔️ No egg or meat withdrawal period when used according to the label!
✔️ Our affordable 3 mL portions can treat approximately 60 chickens for the full treatment period, depending on flock weight!

❤️ A LITTLE PREVENTION GOES A LONG WAY!

Here at Country Haven Farm, we've been raising poultry since 2006, and one thing we've learned is that staying ahead of potential problems is much easier than dealing with a flock that's already suffering.

As wild birds migrate through your area this fall, take a few extra minutes to:

🐓 Inspect your birds for external parasites.
🐓 Keep wild birds away from feeders and waterers.
🐓 Clean coops and nesting boxes regularly.
🐓 Monitor your flock for changes in weight, behavior, and egg production.
🐓 Consider routine f***l testing to identify internal parasites.
🐓 Treat parasites appropriately when identified.

Don't wait until your birds are visibly struggling to start paying attention to parasite management!

Healthy chickens are happy chickens, and a little extra attention this fall can make a big difference heading into winter. ❤️

📦 BOTH PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH COUNTRY HAVEN FARM AND CAN BE SHIPPED DIRECTLY TO YOUR DOOR!

Always follow product labeling and appropriate veterinary guidance. Neither product prevents parasites from being introduced, and deworming should be based on identified parasites and treatment needs.
