It's just after Thanksgiving 2022. Obviously, I'm not one for social media as it's been over 2 years since I posted anything. Anyway, It's late autumn so there isn't much in the gardens. I still have two tomato plants that are hanging in and producing. Enough for me anyway. For the cool weather I have turnips, arugula, radishes, and cabbage right now. I plan to sow some more arugula and some mustard. I may put in some more carrot seeds too. What I've sowed hasn't germinated well. I'll keep trying. The rain has been welcome. The plants like rain water so much more than city water. My pear trees, fig trees, and blueberries are looking good. It's time to do some pruning. I have two apple trees to plant and a number of shade and ornamental trees to plant. My problem is deciding where to put them. I'm determined to get them all in this winter. We'll see if that actually happens. Good intentions and all that. I added 12 new red s*x linked hens this spring. They settled in and are laying well. I like these birds. They are calm and very productive. I'll be adding more of them next spring too. I'm still vending at the Hub City Farmer's Market each Saturday from 8-12. If the weather is bad we set up under the breezeway in front of the offices. I still have a variety of jams and jellies, Pickles, Caponata, and a variety of small cakes and sweet breads. Since it's holiday time I'm bringing my holiday lineup, Rum Cake, Lemon Fruit Cake, and Bourbon Nut cake. They are all yummy. If I have time I try to bring some pies too. Pecan, pumpkin, sweet potato, and apple. I'm happy to take orders. I also bring produce to the market if I have it. Right now I'm bringing arugula, turnips, and cabbage. There are other vendors with produce also. If I have extra eggs, I bring those too. This time of year the eggs aren't plentiful, but I bring what I can. That updates me for now. Come see us at the market.
