Did you know that several of the foods that we can from our garden, we actually don’t sell?

Why you may ask? Our kids eat the heck out of applesauce, so we can’t make enough to sell & keep for ourselves! Some things are hard or expensive to get approved by the County Health Department through my cottage food license. While other things, we simply don’t grow enough of to have some for our family for the year and to sell! Beets fall into one of those categories!

The Jersey County Fair is one of the highest entry fairs for canned goods that I have ever seen. It’s fun to see all the different produce and recipes that people can & to have quite a bit of competition!

That’s why we were super excited to see when our Beets won Best of Show for Canned Goods this year! 🏆

I often get asked about how I use certain canned goods. My favorite use for zucchini relish is to mix it with some tuna fish, mayo, & hard boiled egg. Perfect to eat with crackers or on bread for a light summer lunch!
