To most, it may not look like much.

In fact to many, it probably looks like a w**d.

But to us, it's the beginning of a whole new era for our sheep. One where they are fed better. One where they always get a uniform, nutritious bite. One where they become more productive.

We're very excited about our first silage crop to feed a TMR to our sheep... even if it's only an inch out of the ground so far 🌽🌾🌱

Lambs are processed, frozen, and labeled for you at $7.00 per pound based on hanging weight plus a $150 butchering fee πŸ”ͺπŸ₯© Customize your lamb cuts at time of order!

$100 non-refundable deposit required in order to reserve a lamb for one of our two booked butcher dates in June - there are four lambs available for each date

Fill your freezer with delicious lamb this summer, and enjoy every cut whether it's braised, roasted, or grilled!

Scared you won't know how to cook it or don't have any recipes to try? NO worries! Every customer will be provided information on how to properly cook lamb along with recipe booklets in an insulated cooler bag with their meat πŸ₯©

Please see the graphics below for an example of how live weight transitions to hanging weight and then to packaged meat on a lamb - the example shows 100 pounds of live weight for easy math, but our lambs will be closer to 110 or 120 pounds when they are sent to the butcher!

We're very excited to be partnering with Capital RC&D on April 23rd to host a pasture walk for all small ruminant producers! If you're a producer from the local area and want to learn more about what we do and how to better utilize your pastures, be sure to RSVP πŸ‘

Learning to view the landscape during the "off-season" and using tools for identifying paddock size will compliment discussion about small ruminant grazing during a pasture walk for small ruminant graziers hosted by Capital RC&D at the farm of Eli and Mackenzie Strawser of Top Line Meats LLC in Carlisle, PA on April 23, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Ann Starbard, Capital RC&D Grazing Advisor, will join the Strawsers and guide participants in exercises to practice assessing existing fields and pasture using tools like the Vermont Grazing Plan.

When it goes from 60 degrees on Friday to a chance of 3 to 5 inches of snow on Saturday, there's nothing nicer than being able to just adjust the curtain on the barn and know the sheep will be comfortable πŸ‘
