Known as Napa Valley's "superstar viticulturist," David Abreu has helped shape the region's immense success, lending a helping hand to Screaming Eagle, Colgin, and Bryant Family, while developing his own brand, Abreu Vineyards. The estate was founded in 1986, beginning with a 16-acre plot on St. Helena's Madrona Ranch. While the site's rocky red soils acted as the foundation of Abreu Vineyards, it was the 40-acre Thorevilos Vineyard that became the estate's paramount site.

Bottles are hard to come by and display a unique mixture of power and elegance that has drawn in Napa cult collectors. Vintages like the 2016 have added to Abreu's 100-point tally, and at a decade of bottle age, are now beginning to peak into their prime form.
