On FB a memory post popped up. It was this day 2014 & I was admitted in the hospital in 2014. A mass was detected in my small intestine. They were rushing to get a biopsy done.
Thankfully the surgeon on call looked at my pet scan and saw something that he had only seen twice before in 20+ years of being a surgeon. He cancelled my biopsy.
Dr. Pavlik came to my room and explained he believed I had a rare NET (neuroendocrine Tumor) called Carcinoid. You do not biopsy these, very dangerous. I went into emergency surgery 4 hours later. 8 tumors were found, 2 1/2 feet of my small intestine removed. It did metastasize, I was stage 4, had the syndrome as well and prognosis was I’d more than likely pass in 5 years.
That should have been by 2019😉
I’m giving all praise to God🙏🏻. Without him I wouldn’t be living my best life. Happy/healthy/strong/successful ❤️ I’m a competitive person by nature so when I was given this prognosis I remember saying to myself “wanna bet?”😜🙏🏻❤️

Apple Crisp🍎🍏Simple but packed with flavor & texture! Apples are granny Smith and Honey crisp. They’re coded in a tablespoon of brown sugar, tablespoon of cinnamon, pinch of nutmeg and clove and a teaspoon of salt.
Then topped with a mixture of flour, oats, butter and homemade praline pecans! My mom used to call this a “hug“❤️. when I watch you cook it reminds me of the food that I grew up making with my mom and grandmother!

My fav Thai Peanut Sauce is from my ‘s cookbook🤤. My word if you haven’t made it I suggest you DO!! Mine came out a little thick but delivered on flavor🤤.
