Good morning from Acorn Farm. It is not often that I post on Facebook but today is an exception. Yesterday Andie Babcock stopped by and gave us a wonderful and very thoughtful gift. She had created a photo album of many, many horses and their riders enjoying the cross country course and stadium jumping here at Acorn over the years. This is one of those gifts that make it hard to express how very much it meant to us. We have allowed the use of our cross country to riders almost from the time we first built it. There have been few rules and we have spent many hours watching instructors and individuals enjoying what we have built. Some of you older riders will remember the 3 rules (don't block the driveway, don't come alone and most importantly, don't run over the dogs). Seeing so many of you in these pictures was really heart warming for us. So to those who may of contributed pictures and especially to Andie- Thank You Very Very Much. I would also like to acknowledge Rickie for the many pictures she has shared with us from here and from other facilities. One of her pictures of Mandy and Adie is one we very much cherish. So thank you Rickie for that and for continuing to come and enjoy Acorn and we wish you good luck at Stepping Stone. It was Mandy and John who spruced up the cross country this spring, so to all you riders come and enjoy (it looks great) but don't come alone, don't block the driveway and most importantly don't run over the dog (there is only one here now).

LOST DOGS. Hi everyone. The girls got out of their pen tonight at 5:30pm and have been missing ever since. We live on Rt 2 in Carmel. Please keep an eye out and let us know if you see them. Very friendly. Wearing tags.

Ok everyone here is our chance to really make a difference! Lendon Gray reached out asking if anyone could assist with Hurricane Michael Relief. As you can imagine there are many people with horses that have been displaced, lost their homes, their barns; it truly is heartbreaking.
I reached out to Lendon and let her know about our Pony Club and asked her how we could help. She got me in touch with Jodie down in Destin Florida.
Jodie said there was a man Otis Goodson, their hay man that lost everything. When Houston flooded last year, Otis traveled to Houston with over 30 round bales of hay to the devastated areas on his own time and dime. Now he is the one who is in need of help!

As a club we could really make a difference for Otis. I asked the board if we could try to help the victims out for Hurricane Michael and everyone agreed this would be a great chance to give back.
For the next 2 weeks, as a club we will try to raise money for Otis.

It would be amazing if we could raise $500!
If 15 people raised $35 we be over the goal. I know WE CAN DO IT! I would hope if anything catastrophic happened to our towns that people would help out like we are helping!

All checks should be made out to PPC and we will write one check to Otis. You can either mail them to me-29 Deer Hill Lane Hampden 04444 or I can make arrangements with you to pick up the money.
