Your chimney crown is cracked? Mortar washing out? Brick turning dark & mossy?

Every rain and freeze makes it worse. Water goes from the crown into your house - into wood, insulation and drywall. Winter repair costs 2-3x more.

In the photo is a real home in Carmel - cracked crown, washed-out joints, mossy brick. This is what I fix every week.

What I do:
- Deep clean brick from moss/mold without damaging brick
- Mortar joint repointing / tuckpointing
- Replace damaged bricks
- Remove old crown + pour NEW reinforced concrete crown (proper slope + overhang)

Some things don't fear fire and time.

Terre Haute Brick & Pipe Co. - made 100 years ago, held it in fire today - and nothing happens.

This is what they used to build to last centuries. They don't make it like this anymore.

To build anything outdoors that actually lasts, you need the right base.

It's a solid pad: geotextile fabric, gravel compacted layer by layer, screening and sand. Only then you can pour concrete or lay pavers.

Some contractors skip this step to make the price look cheaper. And then the homeowner pays twice: first when they try to save, second when they have to redo it all. And redoing it always costs more.

This is for outdoor builds - Indiana winter does not forgive shortcuts.

That's why everything we build is only on a solid foundation.

I stop building in mid-October, the foundation needs 7 dry days to cure - Indiana mud and frozen ground won't allow it.

July - August: 3 spots left

Oct - March: Сlosed.
