We had a good time at the Pacific Poultry Breeders Association poultry show this weekend! Queenie, our bantam Ameraucana hen, took home Junior Champion AOCCL! 😍🥰

We also got Best Variety bantam
Blue Ameraucana, Self blue Ameraucana, Cuckoo Ameraucana, and Mottled Belgian Bearded d’Anver.

The PPBA is always a fantastic show with great competition and judges. 🥰❤️🐓

They’re an unlikely pair, but so adorable 😍 Ruby is a bantam Brahma and our oldest rooster and sleeps inside at night and Zilla is one of our Modern game hens that broke her leg and sleeps inside now. She has bonded with Ruby and feels very safe and happy with him, more than she ever did with our MG rooster even. ❤️

This is our weird house chicken Stitch. He is 3/4 modern game bantam and 1/4 bobtail Cochin, which explains the gangly legs, cochin butt, and larger body size!

When he was a little baby he got hurt somehow and started having terrible seizures, so he was our inside, sleep in a box, chicken because he couldn’t walk either. We’ve slowly nursed him back to health and no more seizures! However, he’s also very spoiled because it’s summer so Aria spends every day with him, and they now have quite the bond 😍 Chicken adventures abound in this house! 🤪🫠

Wanna see something truly unique?? These two baby boy Blue Quail Watermaals popped out with silkied feathers! A throw back to their original mom or dad that helped develop the American line of Watermaals that was a silkie! The chances of this happening twice in one hatch is quite slim, considering how many generations of Watermaals came before these two! They’re obviously not going to be used for breeding, but they sure are something rare and adorable! 🥰
