Many visitors ask how we keep w**ds under control in our blueberry fields.
Our approach is to use a combination of w**d management techniques, with mechanical cultivation using our tractor doing most of the work. Once the picking season is over, we make one final pass through the rows before the w**ds have a chance to produce seeds. That simple step helps reduce w**d pressure for the following season.
We like to follow the 80/20 principle: with the right timing and methods, about 20% of the effort can achieve roughly 80% of the results. By staying ahead of the w**ds, we can reduce the need for more intensive control measures later on.
