This year has been extremely dry. We have been waiting for rain to plant beans. Since the last rain was only one tenth and there is no rain in the 10 day forecast we decided to plant as deep as the planter will go this evening. Still going at midnight.

Today I worked in a pea & oat cover crop in anticipation of rain this weekend. We like to keep the ground covered as much as possible to build soil quality and sequester carbon. We have been waiting for rain to plant black turtle beans.
